"I'll bet you are." Chloe replied semi seriously, "And just think you have another sister who'll be driving before you know it too. You lucky guy."
The heels of her boots resounded through the otherwise quiet hall. Everyone else was still in class. Although judging from sound of books slamming shut and book bags opening or closing they were about ready to pour into the hallways.
"Not a thing for once." Chloe tilted her head to look at Chase, "Aww aren't you the sweetie taking your sister out. Holland really is lucky to have you for a brother. Seriously." A little surprised she asked, "You sure Holland wouldn't mind? I don't want to disturb your brother/sister outing."

"Oh, Limm is pretty responsible. I don't really worry about her wrecking my car. She'd probably make mom and dad sign her up with an actual driving school though. That one's a little anal retentive, I must say." Chase thought about his youngest sister, Limm, and shook his head while laughing. Limm and Holland were polar opposites.
"Oh no, she won't mind. After all mom and dad don't know you're going so she won't have to listen to them lecture her about dressing appropriately." Chase laughed again, throwing an arm around Chloe's shoulders and hugging her to him. "My parents are a little ridiculous sometimes. Half the reason I'm taking her out is just to spend some time away from home, give the parents some time to gush over Limm starting junior high."

"She should be an interesting one once she reaches high school. I just hope she learns to loosen up some."
Chloe could well imagine how Limm would be a perfect target for teasing and ridicule if she didn't lighten up at least a little. But than who knew, weren't the uptight ones the ones who partied the hardest anyway?
"Ah. That's true. Would hate for Holland to end up getting another lecture just for hanging out with me." Chloe shook her head, "I never understood how anyone could gush so over someone going into junior high. It's like celebrating a kid going from fourth grade to fifth."
Inside she turned into a puddle of warm goo as Chase gave her a half a hug. Letting herself be lightly squeezed she slipped an arm around behind Chase and let it rest just above his waist.

"Everything Limm does is an achievement. Then again I shouldn't talk, the parents like to document everything I do the same way. I'm not really sure why they skipped over Holland though, poor girl. She always tried so hard to make them happy, but they'd just ignore it. Now she has graduated on to the realm of not caring at all and just wanting to piss them off. Sometimes it really sucks being the oldest." Chase smiled as he felt Chloe put an arm around him, glad that she'd be joining he and Holland. Despite his constant teasing and complaining, he really did enjoy being around her. He hadn't lied before when he'd brought up looks either. He'd always thought she was a pretty girl.

Chloe smiled as Chase talked, trying hard not to mention anything about knowing how Holland felt. Her parents were the same way, at least to a point. Anything Jace did was amazing, even the trouble he got into. Whatever she did, didn't even get her a pat on the head. At least not anymore. She had passed the stage of caring what her parents thought while in grade school. If she couldn't get their attention at least she could get everyone else's.
The bell was bound to ring any second and Chloe knew it. Stay cuddled up next to Chase as they walked down the hall or not? Probably safer not to. Heaven only knew what rumors would be flying around by the end of the day if she stayed glued to his side. And that was something she didn't want to do to Chase. She genuinely liked him and didn't want to see him sucked downward because of her less than perfect reputation.
"Unless you plan on giving everyone a show in about thirty seconds I'm going to have to bolt." Chloe stated already beginning to pull away from Chase, not that she wanted to.

"Hold on, you're not going anywhere." Chase kept a firm grip on her arm, pulling her back towards him. "Don't forget you'll be wearing my jacket all day long, that'll probably have people talking enough as it is." He winked at her, taking a stab at what had made her pull away. So she had a bad reputation, that didn't matter to him. She was still his little sister's best friend and still someone that he quite liked. Maybe his good reputation would cancel out her bad one.
"Now I want you to promise me that you'll keep that jacket on. And if I don't see you around at lunch or in the halls, just find Holland at the end of the day. We're meeting out front." Chase stopped in the hall, looking down at her and smiling. It really was a shame that she acted the way she did and had garnered the reputation she had. She actually was a very sweet kid who didn't deserve to be treated the way a lot of people treated her. He'd always stood up for her when friends of his spoke badly about her, which had always sparked a bit of controversy. But he didn't care, he always stood up for his friends and he wasn't about to turn his back on Chloe at the risk of a few rumours. "Have a fun class, hope Avansi doesn't get too weird this morning."

Even if Chloe had wanted to, struggling would have done her no good. Chase was the stronger of the two. But than what guy in the school couldn't have overpowered her and done anything they had wanted even if she had protested anyway?
Slipping her arm back behind Chase's back she thought of letting her hand slide down until she could easily pinch his butt. The look on his face would have been priceless. But really, did she need to have him wondering even more about her than he already did?
Chloe chuckled as she replied, "Yes daddy. I promise to wear your jacket all day, like a good girl."
The thought of getting to spend more time with two of her favorite people after school put a rather big smile on the teenager's face. If Chase had asked her to she'd have walked over lava to get wherever he and Holland were going to be.
Chloe replied around a groan, "Thanks for reminding me."
Before heading to her class she watched for a moment as Chase left her in the hallway. As big as the school was and with as many people as there were in the hallway now she suddenly felt so lost and alone.

Chase smiled at Chloe's parting words, leaving by her next class and continuing down the hall. When he was close to the corner he looked back, waving to her. Then he rounded the corner and she was gone, leaving him to find his way to English and worry continually about her. He had a bit of a naturally protective part to his personality and it tended to show with the people he was closest to. As he neared English class he thought to himself that he was going from one protected friend to the next, wondering if Ace was in class yet or not.
(do you have any plans for Chloe during school or do you wanna skip them to the end of the day now?)

Chloe waved back. Or at least it looked as though she had. It was hard to tell since the sleeves on Chase's jacket hung past Chloe's fingertips.
[Haven't got any other plans for Chloe. So jumping to the end of the school day is fine with me.]

(Awesome! I'll jump 'em ahead then:)
Chase stood out by his car, having had the forethought to come out and start it up, turning on the air conditioning. It had been rather sunny today and the last thing he wanted was to roast on the way to the mall. He'd seen a few of the soccer guys outside as he was waiting, talking to them about plans for this year and whether or not Ace would finally convince their coach to institute a rougher practice schedule like he wanted.
Inside at her locker, Holland closed the lock and turned to wait for Chloe. She was quite excited about shopping this afternoon, even more so now that Chloe was coming.

Jacket still on and her book bag slung over her shoulder, Chloe all but ran down the hall. Skidding once or twice in her boots, she waved to Holland as she raced over to the teenager. Her smile widening as she stopped just in front of her best friend.
Linking her arm with Holland's she asked, "Ready?"
Chloe was close to darting. She wanted out of that building in the worst possible way. Computer class had been horrid. Math class had managed to be even worse. And to top it all off she ended up running into one slimeball guy after another. But what had she expected dressing like she had?
She thought of asking if they could swing by her house so she could change. Change into what though? Jeans. Sure, no problem. But a shirt? All of hers barely managed to cover her chest. Something she was almost on the verge of remedying.

Holland watched as Chloe came barreling down the hall, obviously wanting out of the school. She grinned as Holland took her arm, nodding that she was ready and leading her best friend out of the school and to Chase's waiting car. "So, how were classes? You seem in a hurry to get out." They walked down the steps toward Chase's car, Holland waving to a friend of hers from the basketball team, a girl by the name of Luck who played as point guard.

"Dreadful." Chloe answered, "Some pimple faced freshman made a pass at me in math. Than the teacher accused me of trying to make out with him." The teenager half snorted at the very thought, "Not even in his dreams. Computer class was creepy as always. English was pretty good though. Which was a nice change of pace after everything else. What about you? How was your day?"

Holland shrugged the one shoulder that wasn't pushed against Chloe. "Man, let me tell you, you missed a wild gym class this morning. It was actually pretty fun, we started the year off with some cool dance aerobics. She had awesome music too, so it kicked ass. The few people who didn't bother to bring a change of clothes since they figured we'd be doing nothing on day one, she made them do push ups and sit ups the whole class! She would change between having fun with us and yelling at them. You should have seen it." Holland grinned, gym was her favourite class after all. "Everything else paled in comparison."
They quickly joined Chase by his car, who smiled when he saw them. "Hello girls, nice to see you're still wearing the jacket Chloe." He winked. "So, the car's already cool because yours truly was smart enough to come out and turn it on before you guys got here." He grinned, looking at Holland. Obviously, from the way she shook her head, there was some joke between them about air conditioning in the car.

Chloe laughed at the mental image that sprang to mind as Holland talked.
"And to think I missed gym this morning. Had I only known it would be so entertaining I might have actually bothered to show up."
Slipping her book bag from her shoulder she offered Chase a smile in reply to his comment about the jacket. She hadn't minded wearing it. It had been rather nice in a way and it did smell so good; like Chase.
Chloe looked stunned as she said, "You remembered all by yourself? But grandpa is that allowed?"
Really she wanted to kiss Chase's cheek and run off giggling, hoping that he'd follow. Instead she had to make comments about 'grandpa' and 'remembering things'. Really what would Holland think if she knew about her silly crush on her brother?
