The Love Shack (Saturday, after beach party)

[Sharise]

Teddy swung the door open and was about to flip on the light when the sound of barking, meowing and thumping filled the air.

"Oh shit.." The shadows of three large dogs came bounding to the doorway. All three beasts immediately tried to jump on Sweetheart but were blocked by Teddy's leg. "Give her some room, guys.." Looking at Sweetheart he smiled. "They get excited..." With that, he pushed the dogs back and turned on the light.

"Sit." Teddy looked at the dogs sternly and watched as they all obeyed his command. "Good boys, now stay." He knelt down and affectionately ruffled the collars of each dog individually. "Ready to meet the kids?" He looked up at Sweetheart and smiled. He hope she wasn't afraid of the huge things.

[Cres]

Sweetheart followed only a step or two behind Teddy, but she jumped back just slightly when the rumble of the approaching dogs surprised her. A smile came over her face immediately, however, when she saw what these things were that approached them. She giggled a little when Teddy prevented them from jumping on her, and closed the door behind her as he commanded them. She smiled when he turned back to look at her from the dogs.

"Oh, you've got them home already," she said happily and came closer, kneeling in front of the dogs. "They are so adorable! My, this one looks so much like Ronny, only that he's, well, larger." She extended her hand to scratch the rottweiler from behind the ear.

[[didn't they have a rottweiler? *lol* I sure hope so. And I'm assuming he would have told her that the doggies had been staying with, uh, his mom, was it, at some point even though I can't remember that he would have done so during, uh, well, when they got "reacquainted".. ]]

[We'll say he told her. lol And yep, there's a rott. All of their pictures are in that "What they look like" thread. That might make it easier. heh]

Teddy smiled wide. "That's Tango." He pointed to a fierce looking malamute/wolf hybrid. "Diego..." He then hugged a rott/husky mutt to his chest. "And this is my baby, Joker." He kissed his dog on the head and then looked around the room. "Rett is somewhere around here, too... Aha," He motioned toward the window seal where a long haired cat sat perched. "There he is."

[[Heh was just refreshing my memory. I love the wolfie especially, btw. ]]

Sweetheart greeted every dog with a scratch and nodded her head with a smile to every one of them as though in greeting. She smiled widest to Joker and reached out to pet him.

"He's adorable!" she said as she scratched the dog. Then she looked over to the window sill where the cat sat, and her eyes went wide. "Oh, my! He's gorgeous! I can just imagine what kind of kittens he and my Smitten would have together," she said, recalling her own white long-haired cat.

Teddy beamed with pride as his pup was complimented. "Yeah, when I saw this mutt at the pound, I just couldn't say no." His eyes then trailed back to Ret, who sat like a king over at the window. "He's not neutered... Bp doesn't believe in snipping away at their manhood." That last line brought a smirk to the boy's face.

"What kind of kittens would we make?" He had a boyish grin on his face as he looked at Sweetheart. Despite the night's earlier events, he was very playful at the moment.

Sweetheart smiled affectionately at Joker. Anything that was important to Teddy would have got that same smile, of course, no matter if it were a rusty tin can, but the point in case was no less. She looked over the cat with a bit of a grin at Teddy's words. She believed the same way. She would never have allowed to neuter any of her pets unless it was for medical reasons - which was something she had to constantly fight over with her father, who didn't want to keep an unneutered female cat in the house.

She turned to Teddy with a wide smile, when he asked about their kittens. A bit of a dreamy look on her face she looked at him.

"A girl like me," she said with a happy smile, "and a boy just like his father." She giggled. "But whichever way, I'm sure they would all have red hair." She winked.

That answer brought a smile to his face. "That'd be one charming family." The mention of charm caused a light bulb to go off in Teddy's head. "Would you like something to eat, or drink? Anything?"

[Cres]

Sweetheart smiled.

"A drink or two would be wonderful," she said. "Something small, maybe... whatever you have." She turned to the dogs again and looked at them with a smile as she continued to scratch them, trying to give them all equal attention. She wondered how they would react to the smell of cat and the faint smell of Ronny in her clothes.

Teddy grinned as he stood and walked into the kitchen. "Would you like that with or without alcohol?" He opened the fridge and peered in. They had more food and beverages than usual. Though, he automatically assumed that she'd ask for something without alcohol.

[Cres]

Sweetheart considered the question for a flash of a second.

"With," she answered as she got up from among the dogs. Anticipating a surprised look, she smiled and added: "I want to know what all the fuss is about, but nothing too strong. I haven't tasted any before."

[Sharise]

Blue eyes went wide with shock. Alcohol? What was going on here?

"As you wish." Teddy chuckled. "It's just a shame Bp's not here... she is a bar tender, so I mean, she'd know exactly what would be a good first drink." He closed the fridge and opened the freezer. Instantly, he grabbed a bowl of ice and a can of daiquiri mix. "But unfortunately, you'll just have to deal with my mediocre drink mixing abilities..."

He smiled at Sweetheart and grabbed a bottle of rum, followed by a blender and two glasses. Without saying a word, he blended the ingredients together and filled the two glasses. "Here you are. A strawberry daiquiri." He held out a glass to Sweetheart and took a large sip of his. It was actually pretty damn tasty.

[Cres]

Sweetheart approached Teddy carefully through the dogs so as not to step on anyone's toes or tails or other assorted body parts bustling around her. When she got to him, she took the offered drink with a smile. She studied it through the glass curiously for a few moments before taking the glass up to her lips and taking a sip.

She grimaced just a little.

"Oh, my," she said. "That sure... has a taste." She smiled. "Don't get me wrong. I like it. But it's kind of... well, strong." She took another sip. She was curious about alcohol. She doubted she could ever consume it like others did, but she was curious. What was the big fuss all about? She couldn't quite tell to begin with, though. It just tasted a little bitter on the tongue but that was about it.

Teddy chuckled and swung an arm around Sweetheart, leading her out of the kitchen. He continued to sip at his drink. "You'll get used it... one day." He smiled and kissed the girl on the forehead.

He motioned toward the couch and tilted his head. "Shall we?"

[Cres]

Sweetheart smiled and cuddled comfortably under Teddy's arm as she followed him out of the kitchen.

"Certainly," she replied his question about the couch, and took another sip of the drink. It tasted a little less bitter and more sweet the second time around. She smiled. "This tastes rather good, really. Strawberry's my favourite flavour - but I guess you knew that." She was sure she had mentioned it to him - several times - when they were growing up.

Teddy smiled and lead Sweetheart to the couch. As he sat, he took another sip of his drink. "I remember everything you've ever told me."

Looking at the coffee table, he noticed a newly rolled joint just sitting there beside a small bag of marijuana. His heart skipped a beat and he soon found himself chugging the frozen concoction. He still hadn't told Sweetheart about all of his bad habits.
