Riley stood just inside the cafeteria, looking around and smiling. It was indeed nice to be back here, she'd enjoyed being here the previous year and was looking forward to her first year as a real teacher. She smiled at Chip's offer, then noticed him looking around, his eyes settling on Chase and Chloe.
"Ah yes, Chloe's got quite the interesting take on fashion," Rylie leaned a little closer so she could speak a little lower, "I'm surprised she's wearing a jacket, it must be Chase's, judging by the size of it." Rylie smiled. "Chase there, sitting with her, he's a good kid. Very nice and respectful, quite popular. He plays soccer, the assistant captain. He's a good player but I think he only got the position because the captain whined so much, seeing as how they're best friends and quite close. That would be Ace, who I'm sure you'll probably hear quite a bit about over the year. He's at the top of quite a few of the teacher's favourite student lists. He's a little too arrogant for my liking, though. Gets quite mean with some of the other students at times, but no one ever stands up to him. Guess you could say he sort of rules the student body, in a sense. Chase is like his second in command, the one who goes around and smoothes things out and softens the blows." Rylie looked back around the room, seeing a few students she'd had last year who waved at her and she waved back before walking over to the counter and ordering a coffee and bluebbery danish.

Chip took in the information Riley was giving him with an apparently relaxed air though inwardly he was quite animated. Ahh now so that was the golden boy's best friend, was it? That was good to know. Soccer, huh? Chip wondered if he ought to try playing himself. He'd not really done it since his high school years, but he'd been an ok student in it then.
He took his eyes off the couple as he followed Riley to the counter. He ordered a muffin and a coffee for himself and then picked out his wallet. He kept the thick bunch of dollars out of sight as best he could. He didn't really flaunt around with his money that much, and besides, he didn't really want to get his wallet stolen.
Chip paid for their treats and then picked up the tray and looked around.
"Where do you want to sit?" he asked. He was itching to go meet this Chase and sure, why not Chloe as well, but he didn't want to be rude to Riley and decide for her.

Chase looked up from his bottle of orange juice, spotting Riley Dorey and some other guy. He wondered if that was the new IT guy Ace and Princess had mentioned this morning. He waved to the young teacher, curious about this guy and wanting to see what he was about. He looked down at Chloe. "I think that's the new IT guy, with Dorey. I heard about him this morning."
Riley waved back to Chase, looking over at Chip. "Why don't we go and meet some of the students then, if you don't mind? Kinda like to say hi anyway, you just don't realize how much you actually miss the kids over the summer." She started walking toward the table where Chase and Chloe were sitting, her danish and coffee in hand.

Chip smiled. This was turning out excellently. But he left the tray behind when she picked up her coffee and danish. He sighed in his mind. He supposed chivalry was really dead, when women didn't even pay attention to it anymore. But he grabbed his own things and followed her, smiling to Chase and Chloe as they got to the table.
"Good morning," he said to them with an amiable smile. "Is the rest of the table taken or might we rest our weary arses beside it for a while?"
Chip really liked fooling around with all that shit he'd learned in his English lessons.

Chase smirked at Chip's comment, nodding for them to sit down. "Please join us, always nice to meet new staff members. At least I assume you're the new IT guy, correct? I heard mention of you this morning from some friends." Looking from Chip to Riley, Chase offered her a smile as she sat down across from him. "Nice to see you D, have a good summer?"
Riley smiled as she sat down, nodding her head. "It was pretty awesome, I went to Brazil with some of my girlfriends. Very fun."

Chip smiled and sat down as well, nodding to Chase's question about him being the new IT guy.
"The name's Chip," he said, sitting down next to Chase. "And yeah, I am the new IT guy. You must be a friend of Ace's and Princess's, then," he continued. "Those two are the only students I've met so far. Well, if we count out Sweets, but then she and I go ways back."

Chase nodded to Chip. "Yeah, they'd be the two, outside this morning before I came in. Ace in particular seemed to think you were quite interesting, and with him being my best friend, naturally I was quite curious." He took a sip of his orange juice, still looking at Chip. "They mentioned you went to school with Sweet's brother Dandy, boarding school?"

Chip nodded and wondered whether the whole school would know about him being in boarding school by the end of the day. He had forgotten how gossipy high schools got. Not that he minded - he didn't tell anyone anything he didn't mind them sharing, unless by accident.
He was most intrigued by the thought that he was now talking with Ace's best friend. You learned quite a few things from people by their friends, he had noticed.
"Yeah, we went to school together. Both our old men seemed to think we were too troublesome at home."
He smirked.

Chase nodded, a faint smile on his lips. "Ahh, the classic tale of reforming young boys at a boarding school, how exciting." He took another sip of his orange juice before replying. "So did it reform the two of you at all?"#nosmileys

[[I'm fairly sure you'll be editing that in a minute but just to make sure you notice the typo: you meant Chase, right? ]] Chip grinned ear to ear. "Oh, yes, sure," he said. "We learned to do all the wicked stuff in secret."

(GAH! I keep writing Chip instead of Chase every time I post, damn it:)
Ace and Princess walked into the cafeteria through the back door, pausing to look around. Princess waved to Tuneful, mentioning to Ace that she was going to pop over to say a quick hello. He nodded, then proceeded to walk up to the front, noting that Chase was sitting with a rather interesting bunch of people. Since Chase and Chip were sitting facing the front of the room, they couldn't see Ace walking up behind them. A grin on his face he decided to play a bit with Chip, knowing that Chase would play along.
Walking up behind his best friend, Ace put his arms around Chase's shoulders, draping himself across his best friend's back, his head resting on Chase's shoulder. "Hey, long time no see, did you miss me in the ten minutes we were separated as much as I missed you?" His face next to Chase's, Ace looked over at Chip and winked.
Chase hadn't been expecting Ace to show up, nor had he heard him approach, so he was caught off guard a little bit as Ace practically flung himself against him, smiling as he plastered himself to his back. "Oh no, I don't think you could possibly have missed me as much as I missed you, blondie." Looking back he noticed Princess wasn't there. "Where'd the wife go to?"

[[*lol* I know just how that feels. I kept doing the same thing with one other charrie a month or so back. Just because they begin with the same letter don't mean they are the same guy, I kept telling myself. ;D]]
Chip was quite happy in the conversation with Chase when suddenly he heard Ace's footsteps, a little too late for his own comfort, and his entire body tensed up in a second as he half-expected an attack. When he saw Ace snuggle up on Chase, however, he kicked himself for his idiotic antics. Would he stop acting like someone was about to kill him at any moment?
But outwards, he smiled to Chase and Ace - momentarily amused by the rhyme - and nodded his greetings to Ace. He wasn't sure how he felt about Ace draping around Chase like that. Did that mean they were more than friends, or was the little blonde just messing with him? He examined himself. Was he actually jealous? He couldn't help being amused. Jealous over a boy he had known for less than an hour?
"Hello again, sunshine," he said to Ace and then looked around searchingly for Princess as well. "Indeed, where did you leave your prettier half?" There was a teasing smile on his lips.

Ace smiled at Chase's greeting; for some reason, even though a lot of people called him blondie, it just felt different when it was Chase. Maybe because the nickname had been in use for years, and Chase hadn't abandoned it even when everyone else had started using it. Keeping his head leaning against Chase's shoulder he looked over at Chip, still smiling when he gave his greeting. Sunshine. No one had ever called him that, and while it was kind of weird since that was his nickname for his favourite cousin Sunny, he decided that he quite liked it coming from Chip's mouth. When Chip made the comment about Princess though, he pretended to be offended.
"While she is a gorgeous girl, she is not prettier than me. No one is prettier than me." Sulkily he remained leaning against again Chase, his arms aqueezing around the other boy's shoulders in a hug. "She's back at the rock n' rebel table, talking to Tuneful." Ace smirked as he mentioned her location; the majority of tables in the cafeteria had acquired nicknames due to their usual occupants.
Chase smiled as he felt Ace's arms tighten around him, wondering why the other boy was in such a good mood today. He had been expecting Ace to be a little on the snotty side this morning what with it being the first day back, and with the knowledge that he and Starlight would be sharing locker space over the year. Whatever the reason though, he was glad. A happy Ace was much easier to deal with.
"So, you gonna stand the whole time or do you want to sit down?"
"As fun as it is being plastered up against you, I suppose the ladies don't need such an exciting display first thing in the morning." Winking directly at Dorey, who he knew would be slightly bothered by he and Chase, Chloe he figured would be enjoying the show, he kissed Chase on the cheek before sliding down onto the bench directly between Chase and Chip. "Thanks for the offer, hon." He looked back over at Chip, wondering what his reaction would be to the lightly placed kiss.

Chip quite enjoyed the view, in fact. He let his eyes rest on Ace without showing too much interest. He was not about to let anyone on to his little weakness. The minute the school board heard, he was sure, he'd be sent packing.
The kiss Ace gave to his best friend was nearly physically painful to Chip though he couldn't tell why. It couldn't be desperate love. He suspected he had just been alone too long. So he kept up his good spirits on the outside - though that was nearly lost when Ace in fact sat down in between him and Chase. Ahh when would these pretty ones stop torturing him? He resisted the urge to scoop the blonde up under his arm, reminding himself he was in fact not a student but a teacher here. Lawsuits.
Lawsuits. Yes, that was a good thing to concentrate on.
He smiled to Ace as he made some room for him - not too much though. He couldn't let the blonde slip too far now could he?
"You want anything?" Chip asked then, smiling. "Muffin, donut, milkshake?" Then he frowned. "Do they offer milkshakes here? I happen to know an excellent recipe myself. Learned it in my days at the jail... oh, sorry, I mean boarding school. Though they could have fooled me on that one."
The things you do to impress girls, he thought bitterly to himself, recalling when he had in fact learned the recipe. Especially when you don't even want them.

Ace smiled politely, shaking his head. "I don't do milkshakes, they're too fattening." He elbowed Chase when the other boy started to laugh, knowing the comment had probably sounded a little ridiculous coming from him, but it was the truth. He was very picky when it came to what he put in his mouth. "I'm not hungry either, I think I'm actually one of the few who eat before I come to school. I prefer making my own food, you see. I just don't trust the cooking of the majority of others, unless it's at a fancy restaurant."
"Oh would you stop! You're absolutely insufferable at times, you know?" Chase smiled and shook his head, amused at Ace's attitude. "It's unfortunate there's no kitchen for us here, then you could cook for us all at lunch, keep up from consuming the greasiness of the cafeteria food."
"Yeah, you wish I'd cook for you, you lazy ass. Cooking is quite soothing, you know? I love to cook." He turned to look at Chip. "Do you do much in the kitchen aside from milkshakes?" As he mentioned milkshakes, Ace couldn't help but wonder if Chip would pick up on the subtle sexual reference, keeping his eyes glued on Chip's. Oh, if only Dorey weren't here, he'd make a move on Chip, as subtle as it would be. He'd just have to wait until later.
