[*gasp* I post!]
The ride over had been a fairly quiet one. But it was only a fifteen-minute trip anyway. No time for a deep conversation or anything.
Dom had his hands in his pockets. Eyes scanning the white beach, glancing over the various people, mostly teens. The one he was looking for wasn’t there. At least he didn’t think so. Of course from this distance how could anyone tell for absolute certain?
Pushing the nervousness down Melody glanced about; wondering who all was here. But mostly she wondered what on earth had possessed her to say yes to coming here when Domino had asked her. This was a dumb idea. A completely stupid idea. Turning she watched the ferry leave, not due back until sometime after it dropped off the passengers that were heading to the mainland. She was trapped. Maybe not forever. But there was no escape for the next hour at least.
"Think Loki's actually in the resort?" Dom asked to no one in particular, wondering if the teen had stayed or slipped out while no one was looking.

*YAY FINALLY!!!*
Slugger glanced around as well, glad to be back on the island. He watched as the other occupants of the ferry dispersed, mostly heading towards the village off to the right. He looked down the road to the left, the direction in which the resort was. He wondered who was down there. He turned to look at Dom when he posed his question. "Well, knowng him he's probably either there harassing Moki, or hanging out with the locals at the firepit area. I say we head to the resort first, even if he's not there Moki usually always knows where he is." He would actually be content enough hanging out with either group, since he knew most of the kids Moki would have invited quite well. It didn't exactly help his tortured artist rock star persona to be in with the popular kids, but it wasn't really all that bad.
Flint, for his part, had simply stood there and watched Melody. He noticed that she seemed tense and he kept wishing that he could be the type of person who could say something or do something to make her feel more at ease. But what could he say? They didn't even really know each other all that well to begin with, he really only ever saw her or spoke to her when she was with Sparky or Ace. And even then, there was never really much talking between them. More like him just happy to be in her presence. He was hopeful though that today would maybe allow for them to have more interaction with each other. He just wanted to get to know her better after all, maybe be her friend.
(Haha, Flint's such a cute little puppy dog to Mel;)

There was a smile tugging at one corner of Dom's mouth, when Slugger answered his question. Yes, knowing Loki he was most likely in one of those two locations. At least that meant they'd have an easy time finding him, if they ever really tried to find him once they got to the resort. From the looks of it, with a party going on, it wasn't too likely that they'd be heading off looking for him anytime soon. Which was fine with Dom. Sooner or later Loki would turn him, like always.
Hearing mention of heading towards the resort, Mel wondered who all was there? Was Ace here? Maybe. She hoped he was. It was always good to have either Ace or Dusty around, they both seemed to calm her and keep her in check. Dusty wasn't here Melody knew that. The girl never went to the island. Sometimes it amazed Melody that Dusty ever actually left her house. She just wasn't much for hanging out with people.
Dom was in a chipper mood, for no real reason. Maybe the feel of sand underneath his shoes or the smell of the isle had perked him up. Or maybe it had something to do with getting Mel to actually come along. Shooting a sideways look at Melody he smiled brightly, hoping that someone it would make her feel more welcome. He had a lot to make up for; at least he thought he did, even though it was his brother who had done it all.
[Aww. Just makes Flint even cuter.]

Slugger looked at his companions, grinning when he noticed Flint staring at Melody. He was one of the few people who knew that Flint had a thing for her, which was mostly by accident since he'd simply overheard him talking to his sister about it. Since then, he'd taken to teasing his friend mercilessly. "Well then, to the resort it is. Oh and Flint, you won't get anywhere by just staring. You actually have to do some leg work." He winked at him, the comment being open enough to be interpreted as him meaning that Flint was too lazy to want to walk all the way to the resort, which was true a lot of the time. While Flint was active and played a lot of sports, he wasn't a big fan of doing anything extra.
But Flint had picked up on the real meaning of Slugger's comment, embarassed that his friend had noticed. "Shut up, Slug! Let's just go." He started walking ahead of the others, his hands shoved in his pockets.
Slugger grinned and glanced over at Dom. "He's so defensive." He wondered if Dom had ever noticed Flint's interest in Melody, wondering what he would think if he knew. He was half tempted to tell Melody, just to see what kind of reaction it would get. But he'd heard enough about her more fragile state when it came to guys from Ace and he wasn't looking to push anything today. He just hoped she'd have a good time and relax a little.

While the teenager didn't know that Flint was at all interested in Melody, somehow it wouldn't have surprised him though. The amusement on Dom's face was plain, when he heard Slugger's comment. Even if it did set his mind to wondering about Flint and Mel. Dom kept all comments about 'getting lost in the woods with Mel' to himself. Tempting as it was he was certain that it would upset more than one person.
Melody had picked up on the double meaning though. She often did. Her face remained calm, no trace of embarrassment or nervousness. She stayed a couple of feet behind the boys as they walked to resort. In a way she felt bad for Flint. It was never fun to be the brunt of a joke, even if there was no harm meant in it. She thought about walking up to him and telling him that it was no big deal, but didn't. The fear of talk had kept her from doing a lot of things as of late, especially when it came to guys, even if all she was doing was talking.

After a moment of walking ahead, Flint had realized he probably had come off looking like a bit of a loser. He stopped and turned around, waiting for the other two boys to catch up before cuffing Slugger on the side of the head. "You're an ass, you know that?" He grinned through the words, not really upset with Slugger. But he didn't want to end that conversation without another comment.
Slugger ducked but was still hit, issuing a complaint. "Damn it, I guess that's payback then? I guess I deserved it." He grinned before looking back and seeing Melody walknig behind them. "We're all sweet boys Melody, there's no need to be all aloof and anti-social. We don't bite." He glanced at Flint and grinned before looking back at Melody, "well, Flint might, so maybe you better walk beside Dom."
Flint had turned back to look at Melody too. He wasn't very good at opening lines of communication, but he was good at keeping them going. "Don't listen to this loser. He must be practicing his arrogant attitude for when he makes it big, huh Slug?" He smiled at Melody before smacking Slugger again, this time in the arm. He hoped their constant smacking and punching of each other wouldn't weird her out.

Domino was actually glad to see the two joking and punching each other. It was normal. If they weren't like that than something would have been seriously wrong.
"Every band needs an ass." Dom stated at the same time taking a step away from Slugger.
"A biter, huh." Melody remarked eyeing Flint, "Biting is good." The girl smiled, relaxing.
"Guess that's our cue to disappear." Dom remarked as though he were going to leave.
Tucking her hair behind one ear, she pretended not to hear Dom. It was just a little flirtatious teasing. Nothing wrong with that.
Melody chuckled a little as she watched Slugger and Flint, "You're worse than my brothers."

Slugger looked at Dom and frowned, shaking his head so that his hair fell over his eyes in strands. "You guys just don't understand me. No one understands me." He could barely keep from grinning when he made the comment. He loved playing the tortured artist around his friends. In all truth and honesty, nothing had ever happened in his life that couldn't be understood, his life had been about as normal and good a life as one could ask for.
Flint rolled his eyes at Slugger's comment before hearing Melody's and blushing slightly. He wished he had better control over himself when it came to girls, but there she was, acknowledging Slugger's indication that he liked her and all he could do was blush. When she mentioned her brothers though he laughed a bit.
Slugger, however, did not appreciate the comparison. "Aren't your brother little kids, or something? You'e comparing us to children?" He furrowed his eyebrows and looked back at her, going out of his way to try and look like a bratty child. The joking around seemed to be bringing Melody out of her shell and he was determined to keep it up. Maybe it would help Flint get closer to her after all, then he wouldn't have to put up with the other boy's constant whining over not being able to talk to her.

Dom rolled his eyes when Slugger mentioned 'no one understanding him'. The older teen was just far too likable; it was hard for anyone to believe the 'tortured artist' routine. Or at least he couldn't fathom how anyone could, but than he knew Slugger. At least he felt better than a lot of other people.
Nodding her head yes, Mel admitted that yes her brothers were in fact little kids. She was half tempted to ask the guys if they needed a grown-up type person to take them trick or treating too.
"That's the exact face the twins make!" Melody laughed, "So not helping your case any."
"Great." Dom grinned, "We're all five again. Which could be a problem."
"Can't be any worse than Ting and Jing." Though she did wonder which smart-alec would make a 'mommy' comment first.

Flint grinned when Melody made the comparison between the look on Slugger's face and that of the twins'. "She's right Slug, you're looking decidedly childish. Now be a good kid and stop pouting."
Slugger looked at Flint and stuck his tongue out. Then he looked at Dom and did the same thing. "I am not acting like a child, damn it!" He stomped his foot on the ground for extra effect, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I think someone missed their nap time today, wouldn't you think?" Flint grinned and looked at Melody as he made the comment, a devious smile on his face. This was great, he could make fun of Slugger all day and it would hopefully keep him from getting all shy around his crush.

Dom laughed. If only someone had a video camera, this was something no one would ever believe. Not to mention it would be funny as hell to put it online once the group made it big. Well the thought made him laugh, even if it would have annoyed Slugger.
"Heavens." Melody replied trying to act shocked by this sudden tantrum that Slugger was throwing, "You're having a nap as soon as we reach the resort. Though I think I'll need help getting him down. Any volunteers?" She eyed Flint and Dom with a grin.
Dom backed up with his hands raised, "Not even for a record deal."
Mel coughed, "Chicken."
"Bawk!" Came the all too obvious reply from Dom.

Slugger scrunched up his face and looked at Melody, trying his best to look annoyed. When Dom made the chicken sound he looked at him, nodding his head. "That's right, you better back down. I might be small, but I'm hardcore!"
Flint snorted in response. "Oh please, I could take you down with one hand tied behind my back! You're a little kitten underneath it all, Slug!" He looked up at Melody and winked, "don't worry, I'll get him down on the ground and you can sing him a lullabye. He'll be out cold in no time."

"Yes." Dom replied, "We all fear you."
"Now, now." Mel scolded, "No fighting children."
Dom bit his tongue just before making a remark about 'what are you going to do? spank us?'.
"So nice to have a big, strong man around." Mel smiled, "If singing doesn't work, I'm sure we could find something to keep him in place so takes his nap. Maybe some rope."
'Damn." Dom whistled, "You sure he's supposed to take a nap?"

When Melody mentioned the rope, Slug's face twisted a slight bit with mock fear. "Rope? What the hell kind of twisted daycare are you running? I'm going to tell my mom and she'll have you shut down!"
Flint grinned when Mel made the comment, crossing his arms in front of his chest and shrugging. "Well you know, I don't like to brag but I guess I'm quite superior to this kid when it comes to the strength department. Although it's not all that manly of me, is it? Beating up a little boy?" Flint grinned and looked over at Slugger, quickly moving beside him and patting him on the head. "So maybe you should be a good boy and just lay down and take your nap so I don't have to exert any force." He winked at Slugger.
Slugger, however, was in no mood for deals. He stuck his tongue out again, "pbttt! I don't need a nap! You guys are jerks." He crossed his arms over his chest and pouted. He was actually having quite a bit of fun, he didn't often act up like this but it was fun to do every now and then.

Mel grinned, "But your mom already knows about my methods. That's why you're here."
"How could you use force on a widdle kid like Slugger here?" Dom looked mortified; "You're just a big bully Flint."
Mel moved closer to Flint a glint in her eyes, "If it works to turn someone on ..." Hearing Slugger she turned towards him, "My, in quite the happy camper mood today aren't we."
Dom moved closer to Slugger and whispered, "Have you heard what's going to make us eat? It's gross man. Lizard eyes in toad snot."
"Hey now!" Mel protested, "I never put lizard eyes in toad snot. I put them in fish scales if you must know."
Dom had no reply to that and looked at the other two boys to see if they did.
