Cara smiled when Sparky responded to Vinnie, moving closer to her to emphasis she was fully in it with her.
Vinnie, for his part, was quite taken aback, though he didn't show it. He found Sparky had the most emasculating effect on him, and though he didn't like it, he had to admit there was something fascinating about that kind of approach. He had always liked spirited women.
If it had something to do with the genes he had inherited from his father, who had also liked spirited women but only so he could beat the crap out of them, he didn't know. He wasn't exactly conscious of the reasons of most things he did.
He threw his head back and smiled arrogantly.
"Like I'd want a butcher like you anyway," he tossed back - his first real good comeback for a long time. He eyed her up and down. "I bet you couldn't give a good shag to a stag even if you tried."
Less good comeback, and more angry than he'd meant to.
Cara's eyes flashed dangerously at that comment.
"I'll bet she'd be better than you," she tossed back before she really thought about it.

Sparky kept smiling at Vinnie's comment, about to respond when Cara did instead. Looking at the girl beside her, Sparky put her arm around her friend, drawing her in close to her. "Now see what you've gone and done, wiener? You've made poor Cara here switch teams! Since you're obviously not getting any love from us, maybe you should think about doing the same. After all, the guys here are pretty hot when you think about it." Sparky winked at Vinnie, totally amused and hoping he wasn't the type to get seriously angry over playful insults.
Moki had intended on introducing Phin to Sparky and Cara but seeing as how they were obviously occupied with Vinnie, she brought the boy over to Bee. "Bee! This is Phin, lovely accent on the boy. Phin, this is Bee, short for Bright Eyes, the very first one out of this lot to ever come visit me! We've been friends for ages, it feels like!" Moki put her other arm around Bee's shoulders.

Melody had happened near the park late that morning at the exact time Dom was passing. The boy had taken it upon himself to invite her along and when she refused he insisted all the more. Having no plans and for once having the day to do whatever Mel couldn't give a valid reason to refuse and caved. Though she now wondered if it had been such a good idea. Maybe she should have stayed home with mom and the twins anyway. Even though her mother had pushed her towards the door and told her to have some fun.
Dom sat with one leg underneath him watching the waves as they hit the side of the boat. He inhaled deeply the strong scent of the salty air and smiled.
Melody sat close enough by to be considered part of the small group but not where she'd be too close. The boys were at least friendly. But weren't they all? She pushed the thoughts from her mind. No, they were different. At least in part. They were into music. And it felt good to be near others musically inclined right than even if there was no playing of music right than.

Vinnie tried to keep his head cool, but the way Cara was now turning on him and how Sparky was going along with it, even daring to suggest he'd be interested in guys - the way he saw it anyway... it was too much. Hotheaded as he was, he frowned angrily and pulled his cigarette-holding hand forward, close to Sparky's face, forefinger pointing to her, in a fairly typical Italian gesture. His Italian accent grew a little thicker, like always when he got emotional.
"I ain't no fucking fag," he said sharply, angrily. "You hear me?"
There was the scent of fight in the air.
Bee, who had been uncertain of with whom she should try to talk with, smiled happily when Moki came to introduce Phin to her. She smiled, feeling somehow very safe under Moki's arm, and extended her hand in greeting to Phin.
"Pleased to meet you," she said eagerly. She had always thought the British accent rather... intriguing. Accents was one of the numerous things she had tried her hand in studying, and so she had to ask, "Which part of England do you come from?"

(Haha, don't worry, I didn't even realize we had a filter! I thought we got rid of it. I can log in later as admin and fix it and also get rid of the filter:)
Sparky stood her ground in front of Vinnie, never one to back down from anyone. Which wasn't always the smartest thing for her to do... "Are you threatening me, wiener? A big bad Italian stallion like you, threatening a girl? That's so hot." Sparky turned to Cara, a look of passion on her face. "Oh Cara, do me now! Vinnie's display is just making my juices flow and I need release!" Sparky could barely keep from laughing, turning to look back at Vinnie and blowing him a kiss.

[[hehe yeah, the word I meant to use is the worst I personally know, "f*g", in case you know what I mean. I didn't know there was a filter either - it's never filtered anything before. O.o]]
Cara's eyes had widened just a little - he could see that something in Vinnie's head was about to snap. She had never seen him like that before. It would have actually been rather hot. Had she not been so angry that he was going for Sparky like that.
She barely managed to smile back to Sparky.
Vinnie, for his part, got a little confused about how Sparky was handling the situation. Her words reminded him of his plain old Italian honour. Never to hit girls. He lowered his hand. He stared at Sparky for some while and then muttered out a long string of Italian curses and turned his head away, lifting the cigarette onto his lips again.
Cara managed to breathe just a little easier.

Lancer and Teddy both fell silent. The look on Ace's face said that they had gone too far, which seemed odd to them. It wasn't like the blonde to get emotional over friendly badgering... maybe he was just having a bad day?
Not knowing what to think, Lancer gently nudged Ace on the arm. "I'm just kidding. I know you're not actually a whore."
"Yeah you're just a flirt..." Teddy grinned. "In fact, you're almost as bad as me."
Lancer was about to make a jab at Teddy when Chip stepped in. He couldn't help but to smile at the man's comment, knowing that the other two sluts would just have to say something in return.
"The more the merrier." Teddy gave a seductive wink, making it obvious that they had all been joking around. Had he known Chip's relationship to Sweetheart and Dan, he would have kept his mouth shut.
Phin, on the other hand, had far less to worry about. Throwing a dashing smile to Bee, he kissed her offered hand in greeting. "Pleased to meet you." He nodded. "I'm from London, actually."
[Kat, you fool.... you put the filter in yourself! lol When the board first opened, you went through and made all of the genital areas and other profanities into funny sayings, and what not. Like man-tool, well'o'love, love galaxy, and what not.... Good job on remembering. ;) ]

(OMG I forgot I put that in here!! Haha, that's bad:)
Ace half-heartedly attempted a smile, but was a little too hung up on the truth behind Lancer's initial comment and on Chip's distance so far. He wanted to say something, anything to explain his unusual behaviour to Teddy and Lancer, but he couldn't muster up any words. Seemingly out of nowhere he heard Chip speak, realizing that he had been too focused on his issues to not pay attention to his surroundings. Turning to look at Chip he knew the look of relief on his face had to be strong enough to make it completely obvious to his two friends that Chip meant something to him.
A little coy smile creeping onto his face, Ace looked up at Chip. "And just what are you doing here, Mr. IT? Fraternizing with the students?" Though he had a smile on his face, he knew if he kept looking at Chip and thinking about everything currently going on in his mind he'd probably end up with a few tears in his eyes that wouldn't go away until he collapsed in someone's arms, preferably Chip's. It had been quite some time since they'd had a chance to be alone after all, and it wasn't until right now that Ace realized that he wanted that opportunity to come up again.
After last night's conversation with Phin, and the British boy's sudden belief that he too had been abused as a child, Ace's conviction to not give anything away to anyone was slowly starting to crumble. But then he remembered that a good number of his close friends were here, people he'd been hiding his secret from for years. He couldn't just break down in front of everyone. Especially not when the day was supposed to be a happy occasion and everyone was suppsoed to be having fun. But fun was something Ace didn't have as much of as he should. There was just always too much on his mind.
Sparky grinned triumphantly as Vinnie started to turn away, deciding to get one last jab in. "Oh, Vinnie? I guess no one told you, but the resort is a non-smoking environment. So you'd better put that out."

Chip, who well knew Teddy by description though the two had not really met, was slightly amused of the boy's wink. He wasn't sure if Teddy knew how well he was connected to the Rosaccis. But having the eternal prankster spark in him, he chose not to make it obvious - just yet, anyway.
He didn't reply anything to Teddy, however, because his attention was drawn to Ace when the blond turned to look at him. He was quick to catch on the relief on his face, and it moved something inside him. Warmed him. It seemed like a forever to him since someone had last been so happy to see him. Dan seemed to take him for granted these days, and aside from Dan, well... who did he really have, anyway?
Chip smiled to Ace warmly, being too affected by the blond's reaction to his arrival to guard himself, and so his own affection was clearly read all over his face. He hardly even noticed this, however, and for him it was lucky that his back was toward Vinnie at that moment.
"You know me," he said with a wink to Ace. "Whenever there's a party, I can't resist it." At that point he suddenly realised he was being too openly affectionate toward the boy in his behaviour, and switched to encompass all three boys with his gaze. "Or promise of cute boys, for another thing." He had come to notice that this was a crowd with which he didn't have to be so careful of saying things like that.
Bee turned as deep red as her hair, if not even deeper, when Phin kissed her hand. She opened her mouth, then closed it again, and finally giggled.
"Charmed," she said, her cheeks still rather red, and a pleased smile on her lips which told clearly that she really was that - charmed. She looked at Moki with a wicked smile - the first of the kind she had managed in a long time. "He's a real prince, isn't he? We mustn't let this one get away."
Vinnie was at the edge of his self-restraint. Cara knew this, and felt a cold shiver through her spine when she stepped a little closer yet to Sparky, as though to defend her - even if she had no idea what she could possibly do if Vinnie did choose to get violent. She glanced over her shoulder toward Dan and Chip and the boys from school. At least there was enough male muscle there to help if things did get out of hand.
Vinnie straightened his back a little and leaned to one leg. He looked away with an unmoving face as he inhaled long, long, from his cigarette, before finally lowering the cigarette from his lips. He turned his head toward Sparky and blew the smoke right into her face.
"And they're gonna do what? Arrest me for one lousy smoke?"
[[somehow I have the feeling Vinnie's going to end up being hated and/or ridiculed by everybody. Poor guy. *lol*]]

Chip's smile was like a calming blanket being thrown over his head, shoving everything else back into the shadows where it had been previously and soothing his spirit. Choosing to ignore the fact that today was obviously going to be what he had taken to calling a "bi-polar day", Ace looked quickly back at Teddy, a playful grin on his face. "Yeah it's too bad really, you just missed quite the party happening in Teddy's pants." He knew he shouldn't have made the comment, but he was hoping Teddy would take it as his way of saying that his expression of earlier upon learning that fact didn't bother him, nor would it change anything between them. At least not from Ace's end, at least he hoped it wouldn't.
"Not to mention," Ace turned back to Chip, that cocky look having returned to his face, "yes there are some hot guys here, but just don't forget that I'm the hottest one." He winked at Chip playfully, then shot a glance back at Teddy that was still amused enough to make it clear he wasn't just teasing Chip with that comment. "Oh and you've got sucky timing, too. You missed out on the kissing." Even though he knew he was being completely obvious with his flirting toward Chip, he couldn't help it.
Looking briefly back at the dock though, he saw the new additions. "Hey, Gin and company are here, without the arch nemesis too. I didn't know they were coming." Ace was happy he had come, it seemed that a lot of people with whom he hadn't had a lot of interaction with lately were showing up.

Chip smiled, amused at Ace's flirtatious behaviour - and completely forgetting himself; forgetting Vinnie, who stood not far behind him. He had to say he rather tended to agree with Ace's comment about being the hottest guy there. Chip's eyes never left the blond as he talked to him.
He might have said something in return, but for once in his life he found himself not able to find a good remark. The boy certainly moved something inside him. Realising just how much he would have wanted to put his arms round Ace and pull him closer for a kiss, he shook himself back alert. He glanced behind him, to Vinnie, only too happy to notice he was busy with Sparky and Cara.
Though at that point also the boy's expression alerted him that there was something going on there that he didn't like so much.
Damn, he thought to himself, and chose to keep a closer eye on what happened there. He was far too aware that Vinnie kept with him a clasp knife and that he was far too willing also to use it. He couldn't understand why his father was so taken with the boy. He'd got himself into trouble with the law in Italy already a few times.

Moki had also looked over and noticed Vinnie and Sparky's confrontation, immediately feeling nervous. Just who was this guy, anyway? Threatening her best friend and blowing in her face? Though she was more tempted to run back inside and get her father, she calmly walked over to the three and looked at Vinnie. "She is right, there is no smoking here at our resort. I should have mentioned it before since you've never been here, my apologies." She glanced quickly back at Sparky, hoping for once her friend would have the sense to keep her mouth shut. Looking back at Vinnie she hoped he wouldn't get any angrier than he was now. "I'd also like to ask you to please keep a calm sense about you, your body language and tone of voice are quite aggressive, in case you didn't realize, and I won't tolerate anyone treating my friends in such a manner. I know Sparky doesn't always think comments through before making them," again she glanced back at her friend, "but as long as things don't escalte so aggressively, there's no problem." She smiled at him, hoping that he would please not be offended by her comments and that he would also put out his cigarette. She personally hated them.
Ace had also glanced back at Vinnie when he'd noticed Chip look back that way. Remembering the way he'd reacted to him at the club that night, Ace had to admit he was a little freaked out. He had no doubt that if anything happened that Chip, Lancer, and Teddy would easily be able to handle Vinnie. They were all pretty big.

Vinnie realised he had now completely lost all chances with Moki, when the girl came to them. At first he was going to snap at her angrily too. Then he realised that most of the people there were staring at him. And that enough of them were guys who could easily intervene if they chose to.
He pulled back from Sparky and, after a few moments of staring at Moki from under his brows, shrugged.
"Yeah. Whatever." He shrugged again to get the leather jacket into a better position on him. He looked at Cara. "I guess I'm not wanted here."
His eyes sidled from Cara over to Dan, and noticing that he had a girl in his arms, continued over to Chip, who seemed unoccupied - though he was standing curiously close to the blond boy Vinnie had seen in the gay bar earlier. His eyes flashed as they remained on the blond boy for some moments. There was a darkness there in that gaze, and somehow, in Vinnie's mind, it all twisted back to the blond. He had been the one who had got him all upset in the first place, wasn't he? This was all his fault. Yes. That's right. His fault.
"Hey Chip," Vinnie said, though his eyes still lingered on Ace for a few moments before turning to look at Chip fully. "Wanna give me a lift back to the mainland?"
Chip, whose neckhair had rather bristled when he had seen Vinnie's eyes turn to Ace, fought to keep his face neutral.
"Yeah. Sure." He nodded toward the boat. Yes. It was better to get the boy out of here. And if he went willingly, it was all for the better. "Come on." He turned to look at Ace and the other three boys. He tried a smile, but there was an anxious look in his eyes which he couldn't quite hide. He was beginning to worry now about just how much trouble Vinnie'd turn out to be.
Vinnie walked ahead to the boat, the cigarette dangling on his lips. He didn't look at anyone. He felt betrayed. He realised now that Cara had only used him to get to the island. And still everyone here seemed to only like her. Vinnie couldn't understand it. Why was it that everyone always hated him? He felt so bad he would have wanted to smash something.
Smash, not cry... because his father had taught him that boys don't cry.

A look of mortification flashed across Teddy's face. Ace's comment had completely caught him off guard, and it showed. Doing his best to put on a smile, he shrugged. "It was just too bad that nobody came." Teddy was aware of the double meaning to his words, and said them with a smirk.
Lancer, on the other hand, had stopped focusing on the three boys and was keeping an eye on Vinnie and the girls. There was something about the Italian that made his blood boil.... which was never a good thing. The expression in Lancer's eyes was cold enough to freeze vodka as he watched Vinnie head for the boat. Turning to his friends, the expression remained. "I'm gonna go grab a drink."
Without another word, Lancer turned sharply and headed for the bar. Once the teen was set off, it was hard to calm him down. All he needed was some time alone and a few drinks. Or maybe that was the opposite of what he needed.
Phin's attention had also been pulled into the commotion. Thought for him, it wasn't nearly as interesting. "I don't understand what is so hard about respecting someone else's beliefs." The blonde shook his head. Disgust was written across his fine features.
"How close are you to him, again?" Bp raised an eyebrow as she looked from Vinnie to Dan. "He's an asshole."

Bright Eyes had instinctively taken a step closer to Phin when the situation had begun to look more dangerous with Vinnie and the girls. It had been completely unconscious, and she still didn't realise it as she replied to Phin's comment: "Yeah. Me neither."
Cara breathed a bit more easily again when Vinnie hopped into the boat and Chip followed. She grimaced and glanced at Sparky.
"Uh, I wish dad would just fire him," she said. "I knew he was hot-headed, but I had no idea he could be such a jerk."
Dan, for his part, watched Chip go into the boat after Vinnie with a rather worried look on his face. He still held his arms round Bp's waist, but his attention was now mostly in his best friend and his cousin.
"Yeah, he's a real charmer, eh?" he said with a bit less light voice than he'd meant. He looked at Bp and realised she was looking at him. "Hey, don't look at me, he's Chip's cousin, not mine." He smiled, trying to throw the worry off from his mind. "Well, I'm not especially fond of him either, but he's a family friend. My dad seems to like him. Beats me why."
Chip, for his part, stepped into the boat after Vinnie, his every muscle tense with anxiety and anger. He was very protective over those he cared for, and he very much cared for Ace. The way Vinnie had looked at the blond had made Chip's protective instincts wake up good. Vinnie, who still had had the keys to the boat, threw the keys to him and he caught them.
Chip ignited the engine while Vinnie untied the boat from the dock. Then Chip turned the boat round and steered it clear from the dock, and then added some speed and started to steer the boat toward the mainland. Vinnie half sat against the other edge of the boat.
"You're such an idiot, Vinnie," Chip said after they were a little way from the docks. "Honestly, I hate to call you my cousin. You've just got no brains. Can you not take a joke?"
"Shut up." Vinnie had his arms crossed over his chest, and his eyes were on the horizon, scowling.
"No, you know what, Vincenzo, not this time," Chip said, just not able to let it lie. He was too upset. Part of it was anger, part fear. He was afraid that Vinnie might go after Ace - on his spare time, so to speak. "Didn't you get that they were just messing with you? Ever heard of laughing, Vinnie?"
"Shut up," Vinnie repeated, more angrily this time, and turned to look at Chip. "What about you? What the fuck were you doing talking with that f*g anyway? Don't you know what he is?"
"Who cares?" Chip retorted, getting angry as well. Nothing got him angrier than talk about gay people with that tone. "Look, I'm their fucking teacher. Ever heard that discrimination for sexual orientation is illegal?"
"Since when have you cared about illegal?" Vinnie snorted and tossed the cigarette over the railing to the water.
"Since I have known how to separate between that life and public life," Chip replied acidly. "Something you obviously haven't yet learned. I'm not surprised though. You were always slow. I'm so ashamed to call you my cousin! You're worse than an asshole, Vinnie - you're an idiot!"
That seemed to snap something in Vinnie's head for good. He had heard too much shit for that day. He just couldn't take any more. They were already far from the island, but close enough to be still seen fairly clearly, as Chip had not speeded up the boat very much.
"Shut up!" Vinnie shouted and, without thinking, lunged at Chip, his fist hitting him on the jaw, throwing him off to the side so that he hit his head to the railing. The controls of the boat were shoved in the commotion, and the boat jerked to the right and added speed considerably, throwing Vinnie off balance as well.
On the island, Dan had kept a half-interested eye on the boat, and so he noticed what happened at once. He let go of Bp with a jump.
"Chip!" he exclaimed and ran to the dock.
On the boat, Chip was half dizzy for the hit on his head, but even through the haze he realised that Vinnie was staggering up and not going to the controls but coming at him.
"Have you lost your mind completely?" Chip shouted, staggering up himself, taking support from the railing. "The boat's gonna crash if..."
But Vinnie wasn't thinking at the moment. He was blinded by rage that had had no outlet for over ten years and that was now overtaking his every cell. He had got back his balance and lunged at Chip again, not letting him finish his sentence and, because of the instability of the dangerously loose-riding boat and the hit on the head, caught Chip again unawares. Vinnie hit his cousin on the stomach and then on the chin, and - without exactly meaning to - threw him against the railing and right overboard.
Chip let out a shout as he fell into the water with a splash, but there were only bubbles and waves where he fell - he didn't come up again.
Vinnie, who didn't realise that his cousin wasn't coming on the surface again, turned around at once and staggered for the controls. He turned the boat and continued on his way toward the mainland, not once looking back. Hell with Chip.
"Chip!" Dan shouted again, this time his voice filled with alarm, and he turned round to the others. "Quickly! Whose boat can I take?"
[[how's that for excitement, guys? >:D]]
