Bee found it easier to get excited and more back to herself when Moki became so animated. She smiled widely and hugged her friend.
"Oh my God that's so great, Moki!" she exclaimed, her face all ashine.
"You'll make a great model," Vinnie, who had stepped a little closer, noted with a smile, trying to get some attention from Moki.

Moki hugged Bee back, glad the she was coming out of her shell a little. When they were interrupted by Vinnie, though, she turned to him and smiled politely. "Why thank you. That's very sweet." Moki was indeed just as naive to the true intentions of guys as Sparky had mentioned to Cara-- she liked to believe in the good in everyone.

Vinnie smiled, happy to have made an impression. Bee looked at him, blinking a little. She wasn't sure how she should have felt about Vinnie. He struck her as rather attractive, in fact. Though she figured he wouldn't notice her. She was too fat, after all - that's what she believed.
"What will you be for Halloween?" Vinnie asked, trying to wire up a conversation. "Let me guess - an island nymph? You certainly have the looks for the part." He winked.

When she heard Vinnie's comment Moki laughed a little, bringing her hand up to her mouth, turning to look at Bee as she blushed. She glanced back at Vinnie, "and what exactly would an island nymph wear as a costume?"
Sparky listened in on the conversation between Vinnie and Moki, having to bury her head into Cara's shoulder when she heard his comment about Moki being an island nymph. She really should have gone to Moki's defence, but it was just too amusing. Whispering in Cara's ear she kept her eyes on Vinnie. "That one's really smooth Cara, you sure you want to pass him up?"

Bp squeaked in excitement as Dan picked her up and kissed her. The act of passion was gladly reciprocated. To say the least. "I'll have to check my schedule first." There was a smirk on Bp's lips as she looked at the man holding her up. It was obvious that she was kidding.
Lancer stepped next to Teddy. The two boys hadn't hung out in months, and to be honest, they missed each other. Looking out at the ocean, the two friends both watched patiently as Ace got closer to the shore.
"It's going to be so weird...." Teddy's voice trailed off, wondering if Lancer knew what he meant.
"What? The three of us being together?" Lancer looked down at Teddy, who nodded. "I doubt he'll talk to us. He's got plenty of other lackeys to attend to tonight."
Teddy looked a little disappointed. He knew Lancer was right. "I guess so."
Over on the boat, Phin eyed the crowd on the shore. "Are there any... traditions I should know about? I mean, natives to the island might do things differently..."
[lol Cres, have fun trying to get Phin to do anything. He's very naive when it comes to women.]

Ace grinned when Phin mentioned island traditions. He was tempted to tell the other boy that Moki might try to bite him in greeting, just to see his reaction, but he decided not to. He could be pretty convincing when he had to.
"Not really anything special. Well, Moki will probably hug you and kiss you, she likes to say that's an island tradition but she just likes hugging and kissing people." He often teased her about it, actually, asking her why, if it was island tradition, has he never gotten a kiss from her brother. She usually just huffed and hit him in the arm.
As his eyes surveyed the dock, though, taking in everyone who was there, he was quite surprised. The first surprise he'd seen was Chip. He'd been quite busy lately and with his previous weekend taken up with camping with Patch, he hadn't had any time lately to spend with Chip, aside from the few minutes here and there at school. He was surprised at how badly he wanted to just walk up to Chip and hug him. But when his eyes landed on Vinnie they widened in shock. He had not expected to see him there at all. It would definitely prove to be entertaining.
When he saw that Vinnie was currently talking to Moki he smiled, wondering just what the poor girl was having to put up with now. He saw Sparky nearby though and felt better, but also shocked when he saw her arm around Cara, the Italian girl Sparky mentioned every now and then on the cheerleading team. He didn't know her too well but if Sparky liked her, she must be pretty cool. He also noticed Bright Eyes there, which he was the most shocked about. He hadn't really talked to her since biology last year when they had been partners for a few experiments. When the girl actually talked he found her to be good company. It was just unfortunate that she was so shy and he'd probably never get to talk to her outside of class. But maybe if she started socializing more now, she'd come out of her shell.
His eyes travelling a little he then saw BP and Dandy, Sweetheart's brother. He decided to have a chat with her, since he'd had no idea that she was friendly with the older guy and now his curiousity was piqued. Then he saw Teddy and Lancer standing together, a little shocking. It made him realize how long it had been since he'd really hung out with any of his old friends. Especially together. Sure he saw them at school, but as he thought about it now, even there he didn't really talk to them that much. He just had too many people in his life to adequately spend time with them all.
Coming up close to the dock now he lowered the speed of the boat, directing it in to the dock. Looking over at Phin he hoped the boy wouldn't be wary of jumping from the boat to the wooden dock. "Hey, could you jump up on the dock and throw me one the lines?"

Phin smirked. Moki really sounded like an interesting individual. He'd have to get to know her better. Though not in a sexual way. That was just weird.
"Sure." Phin leaped out of the boat in a very cat like manner. His body moved with the ease of someone who had lived out in the wild all their life.
Not even stopping to think about how odd his body movement might seem, Phin grabbed a line and tossed to Ace. In his mind, he was just like everyone else.... well, maybe a little bit better than most. Okay, a lot better than most.

Ace watched Phin jump out of the boat, amused by how he seemed to leap instead of jump, like some wild jungle animal. Maybe he'd been a little too inspired by the cafe last night. Catching the line he'd been thrown, Ace tied it to the speed boat, recalling the knots Jan had taught and tested him on. That particular day had been entertaining, when Jan had taught him how the drive the boat. His mother had been quite drunk and Jan was well on his way, leaving Ace to figure out most of the boat on his own. He smiled as he remembered it. In the past year Jan had really become something of a father figure to him, even coming to a few of his games with his mother. He was grateful for him.
Once he finished tying the knots he climbed up onto the dock and smiled to Phin. "Ready to go socialize?"

"I was born ready." Phin gave a cheesy grin to go along with that doozy of a line.
Truth be told, he was excited. He had been waiting for an opportunity like this ever since the move. It was going to be fabulous.

Ace rolled his eyes at that comment and shook his head-- he hadn't been expecting something that cheesy out of Phin. Slinging his arm around Phin's shoulder, Ace led him over to where his group of friends were standing.
Moki looked back as she heard the boat approach, watching as it indeed was Ace who had arrived. Looking back at Vinnie and smiling, she winked at him. "Hold that thought and let me know what an island nymph would wear, I'll be back." Moki bounded over to the dock, a smile plastered on her face as she jumped at Ace.
Sensing that he would be receiving a wild reaction from Moki-- who he hadn't visited since before going home during the summer, he let Phin go and braced for the body he knew would be slamming into his.
Moki flung her arms around his neck and jumped on him, obviously very excited to see him. "I'm so glad you came, I was beginning to think that someone didn't miss me while they were travelling the European countryside this summer!"
"Oh stop it, of course I missed my little coconut." They hugged properly and kissed each other on both cheeks-- a tradition that was at least true for Ace's European upbringing, before separating. "Now Moki, this is my new friend Phin. Phin, meet Moki."

Phin smiled as Moki jumped on his new friend. They were obviously very close.
As Phin watched, a stranger appeared in the place of Moki's face. It was a girl, with brown hair and bright, piercing eyes. There was something familiar about her, and yet, he couldn't place it.
Nausea quickly over took him, and he had to turn away from the couple. Phin closed his eyes tightly and braced himself. A few minutes passed, and the feeling dissolved. It had taken everything he had to keep his lunch down.
Turning back to Ace and Moki, he smiled. He pushed the strange emotions away and focused on what was going on around him. "Hello, it's nice to meet you."

Moki smiled at Phin before hugging him and kissing his cheek. "Hello Phin, welcome to the island! I assume he warned you about my affectionate welcoming tradition?" She grinned in Ace's direction quickly before turning back to look at Phin. He was a cute one, Ace sure had a way with picking new friends.
Seeing that Moki had Phin in her grasp now, Ace looked over at the group of people. Who to greet first? Motioning to Moki that he was going to go and say some quick hellos, he started off towards the group. Teddy and Lancer were the closest, so he figured that he would start with them, as uncomfortable at that could potentially turn. Walking up to the boys, Ace had a smile on his face. "Well hello, strangers. Glad to see you two here." Normally, had he not thought earlier about how little time he'd actually spent around either of the two lately, he would have hugged them immediately. But what if they were pissed off at him? He'd never given any thought to any of his friends being angry with him for anything before, but for some reason, he just didn't get that comfortable vibe right now.

Phin laughed. "Yes he did." He smiled softly. "It's a nice change, though. I've never been kissed when greeted."
Over on the beach, Lancer and Teddy both watched quietly as Ace walked toward them. Jading by their body language, it was obvious that Teddy would be more welcoming than Lance.
"Where the hell have you been?" Teddy smirked. "My bed's been lonely without you." It wasn't hard for Teddy to jump back to the way things used to be. He was much easier going than people thought.
"Hi Ace." Lancer smiled at the blonde. There was no trace of anger or resentment in the teen. He was just being his usual, cold self.

When he heard Teddy's reply his worries washed away and he threw his arms around him, hugging him a little tighter than he normally would have. Looking up at Teddy he winked. "Well then I guess your pants will have to settle for some company right now instead of your bed." He looked over at Lancer next, a grin still on his face. That boy had definitely changed the most out of anyone over the years. But not one to be thrown off by a cold greeting, at least not after Teddy's more than warm one, Ace let go of Teddy and slipped himself under one of Lance's arms, putting his around the much taller boy's waist. "Oh come on, you know you've missed me." He looked up at Lance and smiled, a slight pout on his lips. He just hoped he wasn't making Chip jealous.
Moki was shocked when she heard that from Phin. "Never been kissed when greeted? Then you'll have to come visit me all the time. We have to get you up to speed." Putting an arm around his shoulder, Moki led him over to the group and starting to introduce him to some of the others.

"Oh, baby. You know just the right things to say." Teddy fanned himself. "You whore." With that being said, Teddy slapped Ace on the ass. Oh how he missed the days when they used to joke around.
Lancer looked down at Ace as he snuggled against him. He couldn't fight the smile that forced itself on his lips. "You're hopeless." That was just the thing Lance had needed to break his callous exterior. As much as he hated to admit it, he still cared about the blonde.
Phin smiled as Moki wrapped an arm around him. "I think I could do that...." As the girl lead him to the crowd, his nerves were at ease. As long as he didn't have another flashback, things would be fine.
