NC17: Talk of Lancer and Bee (Saturday)

[Sharise]

Lancer had to smile at Bee's comment. At least she wasn't angry. And despite the confused expression on her face, she didn't seem crushed... This was good. He could handle this. Now if she were to start freaking out suddenly.. well.. he wouldn't be much help no doubt.

"Well, if it means anything.... I feel more vulnerable around you than I ever have around any other girl..." Lancer smiled slightly. "And yes, that's a good thing.. I mean..." He moved over to the closet and leaned against it. "I didn't even feel like this when I was with Katie..." Blue eyes went wide with horror. Did he honestly just say that? You fucking idiot... If Bee were to ask... he'd have to tell her the truth... wouldn't he? But if he did... would she knock the shit out of him for lying to her, and everyone else, for the past four years?


[Sorry, I had to bring up Slate's mother.. simply because she's had such an impact on Lancer... and besides, I'd love for Bee to know the truth. :P Oh, and I should probably mention that there are pictures of Slate and Lancer in almost all of the picture frames hanging out. ::nods:: I forgot to mention that in the boat info thread...]

[[no, it's great! I had no ideas on where this was going anyway, and yays for wanting Bee to know the truth, then I'll certainly have her asking questions. Oh and I'll keep the Slate pictures in mind, I don't think they'd mean anything to her just quite yet but if he drops more hints they just might - assuming there are less or none pictures of his siblings?]]

Bee had to admit to feeling strangely fuzzy inside when he spoke. She had no idea she made him feel that way, and though it made her nervous, it also soothed away her fear and made her calmer. There really was something there still. Even if she wasn't sure what it was, there was something. Bee furrowed her brows ever so lightly when the name Katie slipped off Lancer's tongue. She wasn't stupid. The widening eyes and the expression on Lancer's face clearly tipped her off that there was more to Katie than just some casual old girlfriend. And besides... she hadn't heard anything about Katie before. At least, she didn't think so. Though jealousy panged her, at the same time there was also concern. Concern, because of the way Lancer looked after mentioning her.

"Katie?" she asked, almost a whisper. "Who... when were you with someone called Katie?"

It was the best question she could muster for now.

[Yay! And yeah, there's probably only one picture of Lancer with all of his siblings. ^^]

Lancer looked at Bee and placed his arms behind him as he continued to lean against the closet doors. "Almost immediately after we broke up... " He shrugged, trying not to let on to anything. "We never actually dated..."


[Uh, I always assumed they broke up when they were like.. 13... is that right? o_O If not, I'll change what he said. lol]

[Cres]

[[yeah I think that was right. Well we can say it was 13, haha.]]

Bee furrowed her brows a little. She got up from the bed, her arms still wrapped round herself, and took a few steps closer to Lancer. Her eyes were on the boy now.

"But you said you were with Katie," she said, sounding confused. She was still not quite connecting the dots - yet. "If you didn't date then what did you do with..." Her eyes went a little wide as she realised, and looked back to the bed, then to Lancer again, very very shocked. "Lancer...!"

[Sharise]

Lancer looked down at Bee like a little child. When realization hit the girl, he couldn't help but to notice that she didn't seem mad... just shocked. He wanted to laugh, but he knew better than that. So instead, he opened and then closed his mouth like a fish out of water.

"I..." His hands came out from behind his back and he shrugged. "It was a bad idea... trust me." He shook his head, unsure of how else to say it. Besides.. it really was a bad idea.. kind of.

[Cres]

Bee swallowed and looked at Lancer for a few moments in silence. Her eyes wandered from the boy to the pictures of Slate on the walls. Lancer had slept with this Katie when he was fourteen...? And... wait... how old was... wasn't Slate....

Suddenly the girl's eyes grew even wider.

"Lancer, you didn't... I mean, is... Slate isn't... tell me he isn't..." She looked at Lancer again, and her voice became very, very hushed. "Lancer, is Slate really your brother?"

As Bee began to speak, Lancer's heart stopped beating. It was suddenly getting very hard for him to breath, and he almost gasped as the air got caught in his throat.

The boy opened his mouth and then closed it. Blue eyes never left the girl. "No..." His voice was strained as he spoke. After the words had fallen from his lips, he swallowed hard and clenched his jaws shut. She was going to knock the shit out of him.. or worse.... leave.

[Cres]

Bee's head was spinning. He had a son. She understood it all now. Yes. He had changed so drastically, it had been her, hadn't it? That... Katie? And having a son... and it all made sense to her as she thought about it. Of course. It must be so.

And that meant... it wasn't really her fault, was it? It hadn't been? Well, at least, not entirely. Things had happened, things she didn't know about, and he... and they...

"Oh dear." She felt her head was spinning a bit too fast now, and she didn't even realise that she had said it aloud. She could only stare at him. But she was not angry - somehow. She didn't even come to think that she perhaps should have been upset. Well, she was upset, but more in an... unsettled way, rather than angry. No, she wasn't angry. How could she be? She was surprised to not be even disgusted.

She simply felt like it all made so much more sense now. And how hard it must have been on him! Her heart was filled with warmth, warmth of sympathy. And the ache of love she kept telling herself that wasn't there anymore. But it was. She had never stopped loving him, nor was she likely ever to stop. Even if that love might change in its apparel, it would never end.

Oh, I sound like Sweetheart now.

But she had no time for such thoughts. She stepped closer, over the small gap between them, and suddenly her arms were around him, and she pulled him in for a hug. She wanted to console him, if she could. Show him... show him she understood - at least, she tried.

"Oh, Lancer," she said. "It must have been so horrible on you. I wish you'd told me... I... I'm sorry."

Lancer was, to say the least, shocked by Bee's reaction. He had been expecting her to get mad, disgusted, and hurt, and he had expected her to run away from him. But she didn't. Instead, she hugged him. And it was a real hug, with genuine concern. This was one of the many reasons he had always liked about Bee. He still cared for her, greatly... but he couldn't let her know that. Could he?

Ignoring his thoughts, he wrapped his arms around Bee and hugged her in return. He hadn't hugged a girl in... years. It felt nice.

A soft smile broke onto Lancer's lips as the girl spoke. Looking down at her the smile softened. He gave a small shrug. "I was afraid. Most people wouldn't understand that sort of thing..." He licked his lips in thought and then smiled again. "Besides, I have the most amazing kid in the world. He's the reason I get out of bed every day." And he was. Slate meant the world to Lancer, and it killed him to know that he had to hide the truth from the world. But now someone knew.... Bee knew. And she was okay with it. Words couldn't express how that made him feel. Or maybe they could.

"I love you..." Blue eyes stared at the girl. He knew what he had said, and he wasn't upset by it. It was time for him to lower his walls, even if was only low enough for one person to enter. He did deserve some happiness in life.

[Cres]

"I was afraid. Most people wouldn't understand that sort of thing..." He licked his lips in thought and then smiled again. "Besides, I have the most amazing kid in the world. He's the reason I get out of bed every day."

Bee smiled up to Lancer. It felt weird, in a way, to hear such a young man talk like that, but still, it was very characteristic of Lancer, in her opinion, somehow. He'd always been so sweet, and she remembered thinking often that he would make a wonderful family man, and a wonderful father. Little had she guessed that he was one already. She suspected she would have a nervous breakdown about all of this later, but right now none of it mattered, it was all good. She could see she had penetrated some shield, and it made her feel dizzy in the head.

What he said next made her feel even dizzier.

"I love you..."

She had not expected to hear those three words. In fact, they were the last thing she had expected to hear from his lips. Her pink eyes were very wide for a few moments, and then she felt so dizzy that she couldn't feel her legs anymore. Before she knew it, she was collapsing against him as she fainted.

Lancer watched Bee with wide eyes. Before he knew it she had gone limp in his arms. "Fuck... shit..." He shifted the girl's weight in his arms (which wasn't difficult) and lifted her up. "I killed her... fucking hell.."

Now, he knew damn well she wasn't dead... but it didn't make things any better. He had made her lose consciousness. That wasn't a good thing. Neither were the footsteps he heard coming from up above. God dammit...


"My, my..." Luke smirked as he entered the cabin. "I just cannot leave you alone, can I?"

Phin's eyes were wide as he stared at the girl in Lancer's arms. "Bloody hell."

Instinctively, Lancer flipped back to his usual self and snorted at the two boys. "Will you shut the fuck up already?" He looked at the two boys as he gently laid Bee's body onto the bed. "Besides, the two of you are obviously over dressed for this occasion."

"Don't tempt me.." Phin smirked. "I just might strip down for you."

Luke smirked. "Mm, now I wouldn't mind that." The two boys laughed at one another. They had gotten very close over the course of the night. Lancer on the other hand simply shook his head. This night was getting so fucked up. And what would Bee think when she awoke?

[Cres]

The strain of the day along with her insistence upon starving herself despite the fact she had no overweight to lose were working on Bee, but luckily the dizziness was mainly momentary. She gasped as the light begun to return to her. Her eyelids fluttered open and she became slowly aware that she was lying on the bed. Again. And there were voices...

She gasped again and sat up, her eyes turning very wide as she recognised laughter. Her eyes, now rather wild, went from boy to boy until it became quite clear who were there. Luke and Phin? How had they got in? When had they got in? How long had they been there?

Instinctively, she pulled a sheet from the bed to cover herself with, fully aware that her dress was not sufficient to cover her body as well as she would have wanted it to. And then there was that damned belt. She looked at the boys with wide eyes and moved instinctively closer to Lancer.

"Uh... hi."

That was all she could say.

[Sharise]

Lancer felt a wave of relief wash over him as Bee spoke. She was okay. For now.

Luke looked at Bee and smiled. He wasn't happy to see the girl in Lancer's clothing. Nor was he happy to see Lancer in nothing but a pair of boxers... but he couldn't let them know that. "Hello. Good to see you're alright. You had Lancer worried."

A smile broke on Lancer's lips and he sat down beside Bee. "I didn't know what to do. But thankfully you've only been on for a minute or two."

Phin simply smiled at the girl. He wasn't sure what to say. What had gone on between the two of them? He could only imagine..

[Cres]

Bee stared at the boys, hardly even comprehending what they were saying, what was happening, what she should have done.

"Oh... eh... we... I fell into the water." She pressed the sheet tighter against her chest. "Lancer was going to take me back to the mainland."

She really couldn't figure out anything else to say. They had been interrupted at the worst possible moment. The words Lancer had spoken were running through her mind like little ants, itching. She wanted to ask him what he'd meant, if it meant something, but couldn't as the boys were there. She felt aggravated. She would have wanted to tell them to piss off, but couldn't. It was Lancer's boat, after all.

She realised that her hand was twitching a little. She wrapped the sheet around it to hide it from sight and tried to make it stop. This was not the correct time for a nervous tick.

[Sharise]

Luke smiled and nodded his head. "It happens." The boy cleared his throat. "I'm just going to fix myself a drink..." Lancer nodded and watched quietly as the boy went into the kitchen.

"And I.." Phin began walking toward the bathroom. "Must piss."

Once the two teens were out of sight, Lancer looked at Bee. "You alright?"
