Bee nodded furiously and held tighter to him.
"Whatever you say," she whispered with a very timid little voice, resting her head on his shoulder. She had always felt very safe with Lancer. Even if these days... everything had changed.

Letting go of Bee with his other hand, Lancer held onto the side of the boat and hoisted them both onto the ledge. He wrapped an arm around Bee once more and swung his legs over the edge. Once his balance was regained, he stepped down onto the boat and took a seat at the captain's chair. He still had the frightened girl attached to him, and for some reason, it made him smile.
As luck would have it, the speed boat had a cabin, which had everything you'd ever need if you happened to get lost at sea.... or fall overboard.
"Do you want to go into the cabin? We have a bunch of towels and I'm sure there's a change of clothes in there, and a hair dryer.... whatever you need." Lancer spoke with a smile as his arms were wrapped loosely around Bee's waist. "Really though, you're okay now."

Bee held still in Lancer's arms, trying to get her heartbeat to settle down. She gulped back tears and shivered a little.
"I... I think... yeah... I should dry myself up." She shivered a little as she raised her head from Lancer's shoulder, looking at him. Her eyes were very wide and it was clear that she felt very vulnerable. "You saved my life," she said very quietly.

Lancer smiled down at Bee. He gently caressed the girl's back while holding her close with the other. It was obvious his walls were almost completely down. At this rate he'd wind up revealing all of his deep dark secrets to her, including the one about his returning affection.
"I promised I wouldn't let anything happen to you." Without thinking, Lancer leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Bee's forehead. It was a natural reaction, and it took a minute to settle before hitting him.
Oh my God... There was a soft, but apologetic expression on his face. "I'm sorry.... I just.. I.... I don't know..." He was stumbling over his words. This never happened to him. Why was Bee having such a weird effect on him? She had been causing him to say and do things that were very unlike him. "Sorry." But he liked it.

It wasn't registering through to Bright Eyes what it really meant that he was behaving this way with her, and talking like he was. She just felt herself slipping comfortably back into the safety she had felt during the early times of their relationship. How good it had felt to be in his arms, how right it had all been... and before she knew it, he had kissed her on the forehead, and she had not even shrunk back. It was only when the apologetic expression hit his face that she realised that perhaps him being so gentle with her wasn't completely usual - anymore.
Still, it had awaken something in her that had slumbered for a long time. Perhaps it was a bunch of feelings she still held for him, perhaps it was simply the need to feel loved and protected, perhaps it was a combination of the two... she didn't know. At that moment her logic was far from her mind. She looked at him a little wide-eyed when he fumbled to apologise, then shook her head as a little smile broke through on her lips. Her other hand caressed the back of his head, involuntarily, unconsciously, but gently.
"Don't apologise," she said softly, looking at him deep in the eyes. She couldn't bear him apologising for something that felt so right, and so good, and make her want more. Though the latter aspect she did not consciously realise at the time.

The feeling of Bee's caress sent chills running down the boy's spine. He felt like he was 13 again, back at the beginning of their relationship. There had been so much love and tenderness between the two.... what had happened? Oh, right.... he had broken up with her and then knocked up some hoe, resulting in his beautiful son, Slate.
Lancer's heart irked at the thought. As much as he wanted to have Bee back, he knew she would never take him if she knew the truth. And he couldn't lie to her. Not anymore.
"Don't apologize,"
A strange warmth came over Lancer as he heard those words. Staring into the girl's eyes, he began to lose himself in the moment. All prior thoughts and distractions vanished until it was just the two of them and the unspoken desires they were trying to contain.
Deciding to throw caution to the wind, Lancer moved in slowly until his lips gently caressed Bee's in what had to be the softest kiss of his life. He just hoped she wouldn't slap him.

Bee didn't pull away. She couldn't even imagine doing anything like that. Her breath came quicker and she could feel her heart way too clearly in her chest, but the moment caught her as well as it caught him. She forgot she was supposed to change into dry clothes. She forgot that there was not supposed to be anything between them. She forgot about everything else except the way he held her, and the softness of the kiss. She had closed her eyes the moment their lips met, and answered the kiss sort of like a tentative filly might taste sugar on an extended hand.
But every second was precious. The world was not there. The cold breeze that bit into her through her wet clothes was not there. Nothing was there but him. She could feel his heartbeat against her own as she snuggled there chest to chest. She had not felt this way in a long time. Perhaps ever. All fear was gone.

Lancer was relieved, and even shocked, when the kiss was reciprocated. Bee had woken something inside him that he had long forgotten. He wanted the feeling to stay.
After a few minutes, Lancer slowly pulled away from the kiss. "I'm freezing..." It was obvious that he was hinting for the two to go down into the cabin. And while in the past, the cabin meant sex.... this time around he had no intentions of doing anything more than trade a few kisses. He was just freezing his ass off.

Bee opened her eyes slowly as the kiss ended, moisting her lips with her tongue a little. There was a little wondering, even lost expression in her eyes as she looked at Lancer. She wasn't sure what was going on.
His words woke her up a little from the trance she'd momentarily slipped into. She felt the coldness in her own body, and realised that it was hard to move her fingers for being so cold. Her eyes went a little wide with worry. She didn't register that the suggestion to go into the cabin had been implied, though the reaction led to the same outcome anyway.
"Oh!" she climbed up from his lap, her hands remaining on his shoulders. She was blushing slightly. "You'll catch your death! Come on, we should go inside. Hypothermia is not pretty, let me tell you, and ocean water..." She blushed deeper when she realised she started to blabber on about scientific facts that really need not have been explained.

Lancer watched quietly as Bee went from surprised to embarrassed. Again, he felt relieved with her reaction.
Standing, he shook his head with a smile. "You're cute." Winking to Bee, he took hold of her hands, which were just as cold as his, and began walking backward into the cabin.
Lancer knew the boat like the back of his hand, so walking down the steps backward, in the dark, was no problem for him. Once he had reached the bottom of the stairs, he flicked on a light. The cabin was lit by tiny lights surrounding the edge of the ceiling and floor. Although the lights were dim, the decor of the area stood out. The carpet, walls, and tiling were pristine white. The counter tops were covered in marble, and everything was spotless. The furniture consisted of cherry oak, red leather, and in some cases, red satin. Everything was immaculately kept. In short.... it was beautiful.
"Welcome to my favorite get away." Lancer smiled as he glanced around the cabin. This boat had indeed been his favorite place to run away to. There had been times when he took the boat out on the lake and stayed there all weekend. It was paradise in his eyes.
[I'm so going to try and find a picture of the boat.... and make a layout for the cabin. <33]

[[Mm you should ^-^]]
Bee blushed a little at being called cute. It made her feel hot and strange. She wasn't cute, was she? No. But why would he say so?
She followed him down to the cabin nevertheless, stepping carefully down the stairs. She looked round with rather wide eyes at the splendour.
"Oh, my," she murmured, forgetting for a while about everything as she looked at the cabin.

Lancer smiled and slowly stepped away from the girl. He walked over to a closet and pulled out a pair of plaid boxers and a baseball tee. "Um, I guess I took out all of the clothes I had in here.." He could help but to chuckle as he placed the two pieces of clothing on the bed. He then pulled out a pair of cargo shorts. "You could wear these instead of the boxers if you prefer?" The boy shook his head and pulled off his soaked t-shirt. His muscles rippled under the dim light as he moved, unaware of what kind of emotions or sensations his actions would cause in Bee. [haha, Ok, so I didn't find a pic of the boat yet.. but here is a pic of the clothes. :P ]

At first Bright Eyes giggled at the sight of the boxers. Plaid boxers! She could just see herself straddling along in something as silly as that. She nodded when he pulled out the shorts. They looked a little less ridiculous. She took a step toward the bed to take the shorts, but when Lancer pulled off his shirt, she stopped. The water still gleamed on his muscles, and Bee could trace every blue ripple in the dim light, which painted the boy's body a strange, almost dreamy colour. She swallowed and stopped there at the corner of the bed, her left hand squeezing her right arm, having forgotten about getting rid of her wet clothes. She still shivered a little with cold, but she had suddenly realised what changing clothes really meant. She should have taken her own clothes off. And... and that might have meant... that he might catch a glimpse of her body somewhere along the way. She couldn't let him see her. She felt too insecure about her body. She was convinced he would catch some horrid love handle somewhere around her waist, or notice how wabbly her legs were, or anything, while he himself... he was so perfect... She didn't even realise she was staring. Truth of the matter was that there, in those wet clothes, she in fact showed more of her body than she was likely to do in the tee and the shorts. After all, her usually loose mocca skirt was now wrapped around her hips and partly around her legs, showing a perfect line of thin, perhaps just a little too thin, but well trained leg, and her soft green sweater hung around her or was plastered against her so that it showed her round though not very ample bosom. Her figure was in every way a form of grace and slimness rather than pudgy or bloated, like she herself firmly believed. [[sorry about ample description... I was on the mood. Gah I do have a picture of what she's wearing, but I need to scan it first. I'll probably do that right now, and come back with the picture a wee later. ^-^]] [[EDIT: Here's her clothes! And that's the bag she would carry if she had a bag, which she doesn't right now.

Lancer looked at Bee, who was staring at him. He smirked and jerked his head to the right. "Bathroom's right around the corner."
He knew better than to think she'd strip down right there in front of him. To think any differently would just be stupid. And speaking of stupid, Lancer was eying his childhood sweetheart quite closely. It was impossible to not notice how skin tight her soaked clothes were at the moment. He could see every curve of the girl's body, and he smiled appreciatively. Mentally smacking himself, Lancer pulled his attention away from Bee and to the clothes lying on the bed.
It wasn't until then that Lancer realized something... If Bee wore the shorts, then he'd be stuck in the boxers. And only the boxers. Ah yes, this evening was... memorable.
[Aww, I like the way she dresses!]
[EDIT: I should probably also note that those little lights all over the ground, yeah, they're on the ceiling too. Just thought that might help to know what the lighting is like. :P]

[[^-^ I like the way she dresses too. Oh and that's good to know about the lights - it helps to picture the shading... which are always important... when... two people... hmmm... *coughs* - not that anything necessarily is going to happen (though I don't mind if something does) but there is clearly something going on here... *lol* okay time to stop rambling within brackets and get on with the story.]] When Lancer spoke, Bright Eyes snapped out of the half-trance she'd sunk in. Her ears burned when she realised just how she had been staring at him. She managed a bit of a smile, most relieved of the mention of the bathroom. She hadn't realised there would be another closed space on board. She hoped Lancer wouldn't notice her blush - if he hadn't noticed her staring and wouldn't notice the blush then perhaps she would get away with her staring. She nodded and took the t-shirt and the shorts from the bed. "Thanks," she said, squeezing the clothes in her hands into a bit of a bundle. Then she escaped into the bathroom. She checked three times that the lock was closed, before actually turning and backing away to the toilet seat. She sat down on it and placed the tee and the shorts into the shower basin next to her - checking that it was dry first, of course. Her heart pounded in her chest in a way she had never felt before, and she felt slightly dizzy. What was she going to do? She was alone in the yacht with Lancer. As much as the thought should not have scared her, it did. She hadn't been alone with a guy like this since... oh, she couldn't even tell. He had saved her from the water, to be sure, but now she didn't know quite what she should have thought about the situation. Would he... would he want to... No. No, she told herself. They were just going to put on some dry clothes and then he would drive her to the mainland and she would just go home and... Oh, God! What would her father say if he saw her coming home in strange clothes, her own dripping wet like that? And how could she ever walk across town like this? And all alone, and it was getting late, and what if something happened? She buried her face in her hands. Calm yourself, Bright Eyes, she told herself. There is no need to panic. Everything is all right. She breathed in and out, slowly, not even noticing she was rocking herself back and forth on the toilet seat. Yes. Everything... was... all... right. She opened her eyes again. Her heart was still pounding but at least her breathing was even. She looked at the dry clothes. Yes, she should change before Lancer got worried or something. Bee's hands trembled ever so slightly as she proceeded to untangle herself from the clothes. It was slightly more difficult than what she would have expected, for the sweater was snugly plastered against her skin, and it was heavy for being so wet, too. After much struggling she finally managed to take all her clothes off, at which point she again checked that the door was in fact locked. She was happy that it could be told without having to try and open it - she didn't want to make Lancer wonder about her constant trying of the handle. She found a towel quickly and wiped herself dry into it. Glancing at her wet clothes on the floor she sighed and looked round. Nowhere to hang them. After a moment's thinking Bee gathered them up into her hands and threw them to the shower basin. Good enough, and at least they wouldn't drip everywhere. Next she washed her face clean - from the tears as well as the salt water - and then she carefully slipped into the shorts and the tee. She had to admit it was a pleasing moment to find that the shorts were way too big to stay on comfortably - it meant she wasn't quite as fat as she kept thinking. However, the next thought right after was that she didn't in fact have a belt with which to keep the shorts up, as they kept sliding over her hips and nearly dropping off. Her own mocca-covered belt was much too wet. This sent her into another fit of panic. What was she going to do? She kept holding the shorts up with her hands. If she only had some sort of a piece of string... Oh, I should have just taken the ferry, she thought to herself desperately. Finally she conceded that she had little choice, so she unlocked the door and stepped out, holding tightly to the shorts with one hand. She smiled a little hesitantly. "Eh... I... I don't suppose there's anything here to use for a belt?" she asked a bit timidly.
