"Yeah..." Lancer leaned back on the table, his weight on his elbows. "Parents just seem to want their children to have the best things in life and not have to starve before getting it, like they did."
He looked at Bee, studying her every feature. She really was a pretty girl. It was a shame that she always hid away.

Bright Eyes forgot for a moment to be nervous. It was rare, but their discussion was taking her thoughts to her problems. It made a sad expression come over her face.
"Yeah, I guess so." She sighed, then looked at Lancer. She realised he was staring at her, and got a little uncertain. "What? Is my hair loose?" She had tied part of her hair up into a ponytail, and touched it, obviously self-conscious. She felt her usual complex over her looks returning. Maybe she had chosen too tight clothes after all, maybe he could see how fat she was - as she believed.

Lancer smiled. "No." He shook his head. "Just admiring the view, is all." Before Bee had time to reply, Lancer continued. "So... I think you should come over some time. See the kids. They've gotten really big."

Bee in fact blushed when Lancer said he was admiring the view. She wasn't really used to being called or suggested of being pretty. She glanced down to her body briefly, she had a brief feeling of wanting to ask him if he really meant it and if he thought she was too fat, but she restrained herself easily when he continued talking about the kids.
"Oh... yeah, sure," she said, smiling a little. She liked kids, even if not quite as much as Sweetheart. "I'd love to. I miss them. How old are they now?"

"Well, Jeremy and Ashton are eight, Slate is four, and I don't think you ever met Jillian.. she's one." It was strange, but Lancer seemed to beam with pride when he talked about his brothers and sister. They were practically his kids anyway. Except for Slate... he really was Lancer's son.

Bee smiled.
"Oh my, they do grow, don't they?" She shook her head. "I don't think I ever met Jillian, actually." She wasn't sure why she was feeling so eager to meet his siblings again. Maybe she still missed him. She tried to disregard that thought. "When can I come over?"

"Anytime you want." He smiled. "I'm usually always home." For some reason, this felt so normal to him. "And if I stepped out for whatever reason, I'm sure they'll be a lot of people at the house eager to sit and entertain you."

Bee had to raise a brow.
"Usually at home?" she asked, just a little surprised. "I'm sorry.. I guess I had assumed you spend more time... out. With Luke, or something. He's always stricken me as more of the partying kind."
She frowned a bit, waving her feet back and forth under the table, her hands on the bench and her eyes down.
"You know, I don't think we really know each other at all anymore," she said quietly.

Lancer smirked. "A little shocked?" The smirk turned into a smile. "Luke does like parties and all... but he seems most content when just hanging out."
The smile on the boy's lips faded slowly. No, they didn't know each other at all. Then again, no one really knew him aside from Luke. "Don't feel bad.... I don't really know any of my old friends anymore."

Bee sighed, and smiled a bit.
"Neither do I," she said truthfully. "I guess.. I guess that's partially why I came here today. I was hoping... to maybe reconnect. A little."
She looked at Lancer and rested her hand on his arm.
"I hope we didn't need to lose sight of each other again." She wasn't sure what she meant with it, it was almost as though she was speaking lines of her fantasy role-plays, but she couldn't help it. She still loved Lancer, even if she wasn't sure if the romantic part was there anymore. She didn't want him to go so far.

A small smile spread across Lancer's lips. There was a touch of sadness in those blue eyes as the teen shook his head. "Don't worry. I'll be around."

Bee smiled back, just a little, but couldn't say anything. She'd be sure to make a point of going to meet Lancer at his house some day.

Lancer looked out at the beach. Apparently everyone had gone off in little groups. Even Teddy was missing, along with his boat. Go figure.
Shaking his head, a small smiled graced his lips. "Isn't Phin with Luke?" He raised a brow and looked at Bee. "I can only imagine what kind of trouble they're getting themselves into."

Bee raised her eyebrows, then looked round to search for Luke and Phin.
"Oh, dear," she said, then looked a little hesitant. "Uh, maybe they have just gone inside with the others."

Lancer had to laugh at that. "Not a chance. Luke isn't much into small talk with cheerleaders." The boy smirked. "He would rather get right down to business." He knew it was a lie, but it was one he had to tell. If anyone ever caught on to Luke's true sexual orientation... he'd be ruined.
"So.." He stood. "Shall we go look for them?"
