Ace bit his lower lip lightly, not really sure if he wanted to tell her. He wasn't sure how she would react, but he was worried she'd be pissed off at him. He knew BP really cared about Teddy and he was wary of another reaction like Sweetheart's. But he couldn't just brush her off, it would be just as mean.
"Well, to make a long story short they saw Chip and I outside together. Recently Starlight and I have patched things up and I want our relationship to be as happy as possible because things are really rough on her right now, and if Sweetheart were to say anything to Star about Chip and I, it would destroy her. So I just got a little too worried about it and I guess you could say I flipped out on her, which pissed Teddy off. So he threatened me and I made the stupid mistake of saying, what are you going to do, hit me, like your father?" He looked down at the floor, the more he thought about it the worse he felt. "And now I really feel like an asshole and I know he'll never forgive me for it. So, now you know."
Sparky glanced away when Brit made the comment, a brief look of sadness on her face. She alone of her friends knew how Ace really felt about being labelled the way he was. It was a little hard to always hear comments about him that she knew were so far from the truth, but she wasn't about to let anyone else know about it. So she grinned and looked back up.
"Well, he did have a girlfriend, Starlight. But they broke up last year." She forewent mentioning that it had been due to Ace cheating on her. "He could have any girl he wants and there is no shortage of interested girls. He just hasn't exactly gotten exclusive with any of them though." She also decided not to mention his apparently relationship with Chip, not sure if he wanted that circulated yet and not sure if Brit had picked up on it.

"Oh my God..." Bp couldn't do anything but stare at Ace in disbelief. It wasn't like the blonde to cut his friends so deeply.
Trying to think things through, Bp looked down at the floor. Her pale blue eyes were glistening with sadness. She knew how Teddy must be feeling, but at the same time, she knew Ace probably felt just as bad. "Ace..." After a minute, she looked up at the boy. "You have to talk to him. You know Teddy won't make the first move, especially not after something like this.... " She shook her head. "I'm not going to yell at you, I know you must feel bad enough as is... but really, Ace.... " A single tear fell down the girl's cheek as she stopped mid sentence. She knew Teddy better than anyone, and she knew all too well the memories that haunted the boy. "Do you want me to try and talk to him for you? Not tonight, but maybe in a few days.."
[Omg, Bp CRIED!!! I mean, it was only one tear.. but OMG! lol It's a miracle!!]

Ace saw the tear on her face and felt even worse than he had at Sweetheart's comments. BP never cried and he wasn't exactly thrilled at being the cause of even one tear. He reached out for her with his arms and hugged her, for his sake as much as hers.
"If you think talking to him will do any good, I would really appreciate it. I'd talk to him but I just don't think he'll want to listen to me." He hugged her more tightly and kissed her cheek, not really giving any thought to what Dan or Chip might think. "I'm really sorry though, I know it probably hurt you almost as much as it hurt him. I really don't know what I was thinking." He pulled away a bit, but still held on to her arms.

Brit was oblivious to any sadness in Sparky, her eyes were completely focused on Ace. She listened to what she was told, nodding occasionally. After she'd finished her eyes went a little rounder and she giggled a little.
"Oh, high school drama," she said and then shrugged. "I can see how he'd have difficulty in deciding though. Seeing how all the girls around here are so hot." She winked to Sparky. "Which I'm sure you've noticed too. Well, that Starlight must've been real careless to let such a prize off her hands. Eventually someone else'll come round. But such is life." She shrugged, already bored of the topic of other people's love lives. Her focus didn't stay long in the same topic. "So, back to more important business. What kind of a dress are you going to do for me?"
Cara put her hands on her hips and looked at Brit, slightly annoyed expression on her lips at that remark.
"Oi! She was doing me," she noted, not aware of the possible second implications of her remark.
Chip kept a quiet eye on the conversation between Bp and Ace, even as Dan looked at them with openly suspicious look in his face. Chip moved instinctively toward them when he saw the sadness on their faces, but Dan, who had caught the tear in Bp's eye did better. He furrowed his brows and walked to them, suspicious that Ace might be doing something to upset the girl. He stopped close when Ace hugged Bp.
"Hey... what's going on?" he asked with a gruff voice that had a clearly worried tone to it. "Bp...?"
Chip had also taken a few steps closer, though he was still standing farther away. A strange feeling took him over. Here they were, Dan and him, both with their respective "friends". It felt so weird to him somehow that he hardly knew how to keep the odd smile from creeping over his lips. He hoped it wouldn't amount to a fight. He wasn't sure yet if his feelings toward Ace were strong enough to force him against Dan.
That thought stopped him. What if it ever went to that? Would he choose new love over old again? Suddenly he felt a shiver of cold that made him wrap the blanket better around him.

Bp held onto Ace almost desperately. The blonde was one of her best friends, and the thought of having to choose between him and Teddy made her sick. She could never choose. She'd just have to talk to Teddy... make him understand, somehow.
As the two pulled away, she became aware of the fact that they weren't alone. And the tone in Dan's voice irritated her in a way. The man struck her as the possessive type, and that didn't sit well with her.
Pale eyes turned to the two men, before zeroing in on Dan. "It's not like you'd care." The tone of her voice cut through the air, leaving an icy trail. Turning back to Ace, she gave him a little squeeze. Her tone took on a softer note. "Don't worry, I'll straighten it all out." With that said, she leaned in and kissed Ace on the cheek.
Without giving Dan an option to object, Bp turned sharply and left the room. She suddenly didn't feel like being at a party. And off hand, she figured Lancer wouldn't mind taking her home.... he was probably ready to leave as well.

Dan was shocked out of his socks by Bp's hostile reply. He stepped back, his face looking as though he had just been thrown with an icy cold bucketful of water. He was too shocked to even start out after Bp, and by the time he realised what was happening he was too hurt to do so. What was that supposed to mean, like he'd care? Of course he cared... he cared more than he obviously should have. Her sharpness and the way she just walked away, added to what they had talked about earlier, about not making any commitments... it all jumbled together into one big bad feeling, and Dan had his pride. He didn't go after the girl.
A storm cloud descended on his face and he clenched his hands to fists. Fuck! Fuck with women! They were fucking all alike, weren't they? He got so angry for being so hurt that he probably would have hit Ace, who was the closest person, just to feel a little better, had he not remembered himself in time. Instead, he just glared at Ace with the most poisonous expression he could muster.
"What the fuck did you say to her?" he said with a tone black as the night.
Chip had seen the hurt on Dan's face. He had been as shocked as Dan for Bp's words, having been under the impression that the two were an item and not understanding at all what was going on now. But he also saw the anger, and he knew Dan well enough to realise how close he was to using his fists instead of his senses. In that, he supposed, many Italians were alike.
Quickly as a cat, Chip moved to Ace's side, pushing the boy a little back and meeting Dan calmly, though within he was not calm at all. He had been afraid this would happen. But he had not expected to have to make his choice so soon. He only hoped he could distract Dan from forcing him into that choice now.
"Calm down, Dan. Everyone's a little upset. Don't be stupid..."
Dan's eyes shot to Chip now, and he looked too angry to be able to contain himself. Yet, somehow, he did. Chip was right. This wasn't worth losing more friendships. He didn't even understand what was going on. Whatever it was, somehow, everything going wrong always seemed to have something to do with Ace. What was it about Chip, always picking up these strays that messed up his life, and Dan's as well. And what was it about that blonde that everything always seemed to go wrong whenever he was around? He'd nearly cost Chip his life, and now he'd apparently cost Dan his girlfriend. If Bp could be called that.
He remembered what they had talked about. He supposed they couldn't be. And not anymore, anyway.
Shaking his head, Dan relaxed his muscles. He was slightly bigger than Chip, and broader. If it ever came to a fight it was clear who would win. But he didn't want to fight. Not again, not over a girl, or a guy, it was enough for tonight. Enough drama.
"What the fuck ever," he said darkly. "But I don't think I'll be staying at this party either. I suppose we'll take the ferry or something together, since Vinnie took the boat."
Farther away, Brit and Cara had stared wide-eyed at the drama. Brit felt very ill, Cara was worried. She had seen enough of fights for one night, and didn't want to see any more.
As for Brit, she turned away, trying not to listen in on what the males were talking about. She didn't want to know. She just wanted them to get back to partying and making dresses. That's what they were there for anyway. Why did these people have to make everything so difficult?

The moment Dan spoke, Ace knew there would be a problem. He knew BP well enough to know that she never appreciated anyone stepping into a conversation of hers without invitation, especially not if it was a guy she was dating. Her icy tone didn't surprise him and when she turned back to him and kissed him on the cheek, he smiled back and said a quiet thank you. When she stalked away though he knew, without looking at Dan, that there would be a problem.
Was he going to piss off everyone close to Chip? He glanced at Dan, a little surprised when Chip pushed him back. Was he worried Dan would get violent too? Seeing the hurt and anger in Dan's eyes, Ace wasn't sure if he should bother trying to explain BP to Chip's friend. He had the feeling Dan would only take it the wrong way and be even more pissed off at him.
When Dan mentioned going back, though, Ace was at a loss. Should he offer to take Dan back? Would Chip even want to go with him anymore now? Maybe he'd feel like Dan would need him more. Maybe he should suggest it to Chip, he didn't want to cause anymore problems today. Instead of talking though, he simply stood there and looked at the floor, feeling like the biggest jerk in the entire world.
Sparky had been about to reply to Cara's comment when the discussion interrupted them. She looked back to see BP kiss Ace on the cheek before leaving, apparently not very happy. She felt sick to her stomach with worry now, wondering what her best friend could have possibly done now. She wanted to go over and ask him if he was alright, but she wasn't sure if the interruption would be welcome.
So instead she sat there and stared at the guys, worry evident on her face. He'd seemed fairly happy enough a moment ago and now she wondered if he'd just been hiding something as usual. She looked back down at her sketch book, the nearly finished picture of Cara's Halloween outfit looming back up at her. She was just glad Moki was currently out to miss this, otherwise she'd probably take it personally that her friends were fighting.

Chip was happy to see Dan calming down enough to be actually talked sensibly to. He felt bad for things turning out sour again. Why could nothing ever be simple? Just when he thought he'd got Ace feeling at least a little better, there they went again. He wasn't sure why BP had left the way she had. Had she been offended for Dan coming to interrupt, or was there some other reason for the cold shoulder? He couldn't tell. All he knew was that Dan was not the kind of guy that this would go smoothly over with. He knew Dan to be very protective over his girlfriends, but the way BP had pushed him off probably got to him badly. He was torn between the want to try and talk to Dan and the want to be with Ace at the moment.
"Yeah, we... we can all go together... can't we?" he said finally, looking at Ace a little uncertainly.
Dan said nothing as he stuck his hands into his jacket pockets. He felt shunned and confused and angry at the same time.
Cara stepped instinctively closer to Sparky as they watched the three males. She wondered if parties often turned out like this. She hadn't imagined quite such an end to all the fun. Well, as much fun as there had even been. It had been mostly drama anyway.

With one last look at the boys, Sparky turned back and looked up at Cara, a playful smile on her face. "Well then, back to doing you." She winked at Cara before glancing at Brit, "don't worry Brit, I'm nearly through with Cara and you'll be next. I may be fast, but I'm damn good." Sparky winked at Brit before glancing down at the picture, bringing her pencil up to shade an area first before moving on to finishing the rest of the details.
(Ace didn't come with Lancer, he's got his own boat! He just brought Phin here;)
Ace glanced at Chip and figured now was the time to speak. "I have a boat, you don't need to take the ferry." He glanced from Dan to Chip, wondering if he should suggest splitting up for the night to him. He didn't want to come between Chip and his friend and it was quite obvious that Dan did not like him. Would Chip want to talk to Dan about BP? He was obviously upset about it after all. He had been hoping to bring Chip back to his place and suggest relaxing in his jacuzzi for a while, but he wasn't sure if he should be so selfish anymore. He'd already taken up all of Chip's day so far.

[[Ooops blunder, *lol* edited. ]] Chip smiled to Ace's suggestion. Dan didn't say anything. He was now on a very sour mood. Chip looked at him, then back to Ace, and then sighed as he looked at Dan again. "Yeah, Dan can come with us on the boat. It's faster than the ferry." He looked at Ace and smiled. Yes, he had made his decision - it was "we" as in him and Ace, not as in him and Dan now. He knew Dan would never let him console him anyway, and Chip just felt like he couldn't handle cheering up his friend right then. Dan hadn't even noticed Chip's dilemma. He didn't expect anyone to take care of him, or Chip to change his plans for him. He just nodded. "Yeah you can give me a lift to the shore," was all he said as he started walking out. Chip smiled to Ace, trying to show him there was no problem. Well, there was a bit of a problem, but he didn't want Ace to get jumpy about it. Cara smiled to Sparky and turned her attention away from the boys. They seemed to be sorting themselves out. She grinned and took the pose again. Brit was more than happy when Sparky started talking about dresses again. She smiled. "I can hardly wait!" she said. "I'll have to think up a foxy pose while you draw her. How about this?" And she presented Sparky with the best seductive pose she could think of.

Sparky grinned at Brit, making a very obvious motion of trailing her eyes over the other girl's body. "Way to get the blood flowing, Brit!" Sparky glanced back at Cara, on the verge of laughing. Brit was turning out to be quite pushy and if she weren't so amused by it right now, she'd be quite annoyed. She also didn't want Cara to feel ignored though, and with Brit concentrating more attention on her than Cara, Sparky had to shift hers back on her fellow cheerleader. "Almost done, I have a feeling you're going to love it. Well, I know I at least will love it." She winked at Cara before returning her gaze to the paper.
Ace followed Dan's retreating figure with his eyes, glad he hadn't erupted at the thought of being in the same location with him any longer. He looked up at Chip and saw his smile. He tried to smile back but he knew it didn't look convincing. He walked up to Chip and stuck closely by him until they were outside. Dan was far enough away to not overhear, so Ace spoke.
"Look, if you want to hang out with Dan for the night, that's fine. I can see he's upset by what happened and I know he's your best friend. I don't want you to choose between us, so if you think he needs you, I'm okay with that." He glanced up at Chip, the look on his face obviously not in agreement with the words coming out of his mouth, though he didn't realize it. He badly wanted to spend time with Chip, but he was really starting to worry that he was going to drive a wedge in between Chip and everyone else in his life.

Bp sat outside on a rickety lawn chair. She hadn't gotten very far from the resort, in fact, she was almost right outside it. Truth was, she felt horrible. Dan didn't deserve this kind of bullshit. The girl may have been a bitch, but she wasn't that big of a bitch... she knew when she was wrong, and she wanted to apologize. The only question remaining was would Dan let her?
Ice blue eyes were focused on the sand. It was night now, and the warm island breeze was of no comfort. All she wanted to do was run back into the resort and tell Dan how sorry she was.... Little did she know he was about to come outside.
[Y'all had to know I couldn't let things end that way. ;) ]

[[Hehehe]]
Chip kept his step slower than Dan's in purpose. He was really not feeling very well for one thing, and he could see from the way his friend walked that he really didn't want to be talked to at the moment. Still, that only made Chip feel more guilty about choosing Ace over Dan. He knew the way his friend was. He would have needed Chip even if he never asked. What would he do now, go clubbing until he found some broad to help him think other things for a while?
But Ace's words shook him back to the situation. He looked at the boy, and saw the conflict between his words and his expression. He smiled faintly and shook his head ever so slightly. No, he couldn't leave Ace now. He didn't want to, for that matter. He needed Ace more than Dan needed him. And it looked like Ace needed him too. It was always such a struggle to get Dan cheered up, and Chip simply didn't have it in him at the moment. Besides, Ace had actually made it clear he wanted him close. Dan did nothing but push him away.
Suddenly, the decision was ever so much easier.
"Look, Ace... Dan and I go way back," he said, wanting to wrap an arm around the boy but not quite daring to - they were not in a safe place for cuddling yet. "I know him like the back of my hand. And right now that back over there is telling me it's no use anyway." Chip shook his head and shrugged. "I'll talk with him tomorrow. Besides..." he looked at Ace with an affectionate expression in his eyes, "I need you tonight."
Dan didn't hear anything of the conversation going on behind him. He didn't care, either. He'd sort it out with Chip later. He wasn't in the mood for pondering on his best friend's love affairs right then. That thought paused him for just a moment though, and he stole a glance behind his back, just in time to see Chip's affectionate smile. Oh yes, that's what they were doing all right. But what was the deal anyway? He pushed it decisively out of his mind as he turned his eyes forward again. Not tonight. Another night. Enough drama for... one...
...night...
His eyes went wide and he stopped in his tracks, staring. He didn't notice Bp, though he had already walked fairly close. His eyes were fixed on something else he saw quite a bit farther away. Teddy and Sweetheart were standing together... way too close together for any comfort of Dan's. He narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists. She had strapped her hands around his neck and from the way they stood and looked at one another... that was no mere friendship anymore. He had held enough women in his arms that way to know the difference in the way they held themselves against their men.
"Sweetheart!!!" he roared out. Everything that had happened... no he could not just let it lie. What the devil was that boy doing with his sister?
Chip stopped dead when he heard Dan cry out his sister's name. A cold shiver ran through his back. Oh crap. He did not want Ace and Teddy to meet again, not so soon anyway.

(That will be fine, unless we want more drama, haha; Ace will be doing whatever Chip decides right now though;)
Ace watched as Chip looked at Dan, seeing the conflict there. But when Chip looked down at him and told him that he needed to be with him tonight and not Dan, Ace smiled, relief creeping it's way into his expression. He really hadn't wanted Chip to leave him, but he hadn't wanted to appear too selfish. He returned Chip's affectionate expression. "I was hoping you'd say that, because I really didn't want you to go. I just want to go back and make up for all of the drama from today and just have a happy night together, you know? We haven't really had many of those." Ace finally looked away from Chip, his eyes going out toward the water.
He stopped dead in his tracks the moment his eyes fell on Teddy and Sweetheart, seeing them a moment before Dan. This couldn't really be happening, could it? Just when things seemed like they were going to turn out alright, and the moment gets trashed again. He looked around the beach, wondering if there was anywhere that he could possibly dart off to before Teddy saw him. But then his eyes fell on BP, sitting in the chair. Suddenly the situation just got even worse. He wasn't sure what to do, he just felt like hiding behind Chip and hoping for the best. He really wouldn't be able to deal with things if Teddy did see him and say anything. When he realized that Dan was about to go and talk to the couple, he realized how much worse it could get. What would Dan say if he found out how he had just treated Sweetheart? Dan seemed like the overly protective type and he'd already pissed Dan off by upsetting BP. So Ace did what instinctually came to him, moving closer to Chip and grabbing his arm. "Chip, I'm scared."

Bp hadn't seen Dan come out, and she hadn't realized they were only a few feet away from one another. But that yell of his... well, it snapped her attention toward the older man.
"Dan..." Her voice was even as she spoke, and was tainted with an unspoken apology. She then stood and turned to look at Sweetheart and Teddy, who were standing off in the distance. They sure did look friendly.
"Oh..." Unsure of what to say, Bp just turned back to Dan. She couldn't look the man in the eyes, so instead her attention was focused on the ground. This night couldn't get any worse.... or so she hoped.
Teddy smirked to himself. Sweetheart was really surprising him these days. He liked it... wait, no... he loved it.
Just as the boy was about to respond, a scream ripped through the air. He knew that voice, and a shiver ran down his spine. Slowly turning his head, Teddy's eyes came to Dan's figure. The man was far away, but it was obvious he was furious. And then there was Bp, who looked too sad for his liking. Something else must have happened.
"This night is amazing." Teddy snorted and looked down at Sweetheart. "He's not going to like... come over here and kill me is he?"
