Chip felt the distinctive sensation that he was in the wrong love story, somehow, when Ace said that there was no place he wouldn't have wanted to go if Chip was there with him. No one had ever said anything like that to him. Not even Flash, who had really spoken quite extensive amounts of sweet lies. For a fleeting second the insane fear that Ace, too, was only using him, entered his mind, but quickly he discarded it. One didn't tell stories like what Ace had told him about being molested just to lure someone in. Chip had been his already before it.
He wrapped his arms around Ace as the boy put his arms round his neck, smiling. He was surprised to realise that he hadn't mentioned Colorado to Ace before. Then again, he hadn't mentioned Ace to Colorado - by name, at least - either.
"He's an old friend," Chip explained, enjoying the feeling of the boy's body against his own, and the water around them. He did so love the sea. "Me and Dan met him at the boarding school, and we've been friends since. You'd like him, I think." He chuckled. "I've been rather abusing him with my jokes on our years of growing up, I have to admit. Nothing serious, of course, but you might say that he's likely to feel a little suspicious of me. But he's so easy. It's hard to pass the chance. He's actually coming here around Halloween, or maybe a little earlier. He's not sure yet."

Ace listened to Chip talk about Colorado, smiling. He felt sorry for the guy already, now that he knew Chip better and could only imagine what growing up with him must have been like. "That's good, I look forward to meeting him then. I take it he approves of your sinful lifestyle choices?" Ace grinned, rubbing his leg in between Chip's legs, unable to help making that move. He moved one of his arms from around Chip's neck to around his waist, his fingers laying just above Chip's backside.
*He's such an aggressive little tease! Poor Chip;)*

[[yes he is! But I'm sure Chip wouldn't have it any other way. ;D]]
Chip groaned low from his throat when Ace rubbed his leg between his own, feeling Ace's hand low down on his back. He wasn't quite reacting yet but he knew it wouldn't take long until he might. Did the boy have any idea what a tease he was? As Chip looked at the blond's grin, he knew the answer. He wondered if he'd met his match finally. Colorado had never been much of an adversary in the tease department.
"Well, let me put it this way - his is the questionable honour of being the first guy I kissed," Chip said, sliding his own hands down on the backside of the boy's trunks. He let them rub just a little on the boy's buttocks, gently, yet strong enough to feel clearly. "And I might add he rather liked it." He lifted one corner of his mouth to an ironic smile. "Yeah, you guessed it, he's gay too. Even more than I am. If that's possible."

Ace looked up wistfully at Chip, "it's a shame you didn't have the honour of being my first kiss, or my first anything, for that matter." He looked away briefly, fighting back the sad feeling that was creeping it's way around him. He looked back up at Chip and forced a smile on his face, "but at least you're the first guy who gets my heart, right?" He pulled down on Chip's neck, his mouth searching for the other's. Clamping his mouth down on Chip's he softly pressed his tongue against the other's lips, kissing his memories away. He needed to stick to the present.
He moved his other hand down a bit more on Chip's skin, squeezing it softly. He kept his leg firmly where it was between Chip's. He didn't realize until now that he was testing himself, seeing how far he would let himself go, how far he would let Chip go, before he started freaking out. He rather hoped he'd be able to let things go as far as Chip was willing to push them, hoping that Chip would realize what he was doing and be willing to participate in his test.

Chip was made serious by Ace's sad sort of words. He didn't agree completely with what the boy said - after all, in his books if you were raped you had not really experienced true sex at all; or at least not the part that was called "making love". He was about to say something about that, when Ace suddenly kissed him, taking him a little by surprise.
Feeling the boy's hand move a little downward on his skin, and the leg remaining snugly right where it was, he quickly got on to what he was doing, though. Or at least mostly. He didn't quite yet realise that Ace was testing himself, but he did realise that the blond wanted to go a little farther. How much farther in the end, Chip didn't allow himself think. He couldn't tell from experience, and truth be told he was a little lost when it came to figuring out the appropriate course of action with his wits. When to push forward and when to hold back? How far to go? With any regular virgin he would have known exactly what to do, but because of his experiences, Ace was special.
So he chose to go on insinct. They had not let him down yet. And what his insinct told him was that the best way to move with Ace was to seduce him slowly. That way... who knew... he might even forget to be afraid? So Chip hoped.
He didn't reply anything verbally. Instead, he kissed the boy back, letting his lips first simply take in the boy's kiss and then starting to work with them himself. His tongue slipped out, touching Ace's lips, testing if he'd let it in. Meanwhile, he pulled the boy against his own body, moving his own leg a little forward, to place it in between Ace's own feet, feeling the roundness of his behind with his hands.
He tried to hold himself back from reacting with his lower body for the moment. Though it was rather difficult, he had learned to do it to an extent. After all, the first rule of the seducer was never to get very excited before the target did. And Chip had by now become rather an expert at seduction.

It wasn't very often that Ace was ever turned on, even when he was flirting heavily with others, there was usually never even an inkling of interest on his part. It was usually only with one of his three girls that he found himself craving something, and even then it still didn't happen that often.
But right now he was surprised to find that his interest was getting pretty strong. He hadn't felt this way from simply kissing someone before, but he assumed it had something to do with the relief of knowing that he didn't have to hide his fear of intimacy from Chip. He also figured that his prior comments of wanting to be Chip's, wanting to let him have his way and do whatever he wanted had also worked a bit of magic over him. He trusted Chip to take care of him and part of that process would be showing him what a real sexual relationship was supposed to be like.
Craning his neck to reach his mouth up to Chip's ear, he wanted his message to be clear. "Chip, I trust you more than I've been able to trust anyone before. So I want you to just do whatever you want with me, and I promise that if it's too much, I'll tell you to stop. But right now I just want you to be in control." He stood back down naturally, looking up into Chip's eyes. Yes, taking a break in the water had definitely been the right move.

Ace's words greatly eased Chip's situation. He had been unsure, but after this reassurance there was no question anymore of what he was allowed to do. He looked down at Ace with a smile on his lips and his heart filled with a warmth he had already forgotten could ever be there. He suspected the word "love" was not far anymore, but he dare not speak it yet. Not just yet. But soon, he felt. Soon.
Chip let his other hand slide on Ace's wet back up to the boy's neck while his other hand still remained down on the blond's backside.
"Just remember..." he said with a low voice, his fingers twining into the boy's hair, "I won't do anything you don't want me to. And I'll stop the moment you tell me to." Then a smile curved his lips and he reached his head down to the boy's neck, to his ear, letting his tongue brush on Ace's earlobe before he continued, with a rather husky voice: "But you don't really want me to..."
His hold of the boy's neck was now firm, and his other hand had slipped just slightly under Ace's trunks, resting on the bare skin just at the place of the tailbone. That hand started to inch its way down along the groove of his bottom. He itched to get to touch the boy from the other side, but he chose to move slowly.

Ace shivered a little from excitement at Chip's words, only realizing now how badly he had always longed for someone to say something like that to him. These simple words of trust and caring were doing just as much to excite him as Chip's physical movements. When he felt Chip's tongue on his ear though, he bit softly down on his lower lip, closing his eyes a little and pressing himself harder against Chip. Right now, he definitely felt like he would be okay with anything and everything Chip wanted to do to him. Of course he was caught up in the moment, not realizing that he really should take things more slowly, happy right now to speed things up.
"I mean absolutely anything you want." When Chip's hand slid under his trunks he shivered again, standing on one leg and wrapping the other around the leg Chip had pressed in against him. He was about as turned on now as he'd ever been and he wanted Chip to know it. A small part of him felt like he owed this display to Chip for the night after their first time out at Refelctions together, when he'd totally pushed him away.

Chip was good at this sort of thing. Good, but not perfect. He certainly knew he would stop the moment Ace told him to. But he didn't think anymore if he should or shouldn't slow down. No, now there was only him, and Ace, and this moment, and the rushing sea against their bodies, and he just wanted to take the blond to the beach and show him what true connection between men could be.
Luckily, he also liked to draw things out, enjoy these kind of moments to the fullest, and so he didn't rush.
He let out a little sigh of pleasure as Ace pressed against him, wrapping his leg around Chip's leg. This was indeed a different Ace from the one he had been with that night, when they had first met. And he was loving it.
"Mio bello..." he murmured, not even noticing he was in fact speaking Italian, his other hand still holding Ace's neck and the other roaming about now on the rest of his body, leaving the lower section for a while. He traced his hand on the boy's muscles gently and brought his head up to kiss Ace again. It was a long kiss, and during it his tongue slipped out to meet with Ace's briefly, play with its tip, and then draw back again.
Chip's eyes were filled with affection as well as lust as he looked at Ace in the eyes again.
"Ho non visto niente così bello," he said, almost a wonder-like tone to his voice, his other hand moving away from the neck, and tracing along Ace's features as though his fingers were trying to remember every little curve on the boy's face.

When Chip spoke in Italian Ace couldn't help but smile-- it was so cute. The kiss they shared definitely ranked among his favourite kisses ever, there was just something about standing in the water, small waves pushing your body slightly, and sharing a kiss.
When Chip rambled on again in Italian Ace laughed a little, bringing a hand up to his cheek and leaning his head in towards Chip's. "Don't make me start busting out the Swedish, it's a little too arrogant sounding to add to the romantic mood." He grinned, thinknig to himself that maybe he ought to learn Italian. It was a very pretty language, and he hadn't lied when he'd said Swedish sounded arrogant. He loved his native language, but it wasn't all that romantic or sweet. Not like Italian.

Chip smiled when Ace threatened to start speaking Swedish. He was fairly intrigued by the language himself, as he definitely had never heard one like that before.
"I just said that I've never seen anything as beautiful," Chip said with a soft voice, and kissed Ace on the forehead.

Ace smiled sheepishly, hanging his head and snuggling into Chip's chest. "Oh, now you're going to make me cry! Happy tears, though." He looked back up at Chip, his eyes sparkling. "I'm such a sucker for being called beautiful, by the way. I wouldn't really want to be anything else." He reached up and kissed Chip again on the lips, his tongue once again trailing over the other's lips. He wondered briefly how Chip would react to hearing an 'I love you', if he would respond the same way or just smile. He knew now that the love he was feeling was definitely for Chip, and not just for the safety Chip represented. As much as he wanted someone there in the position Chip had, he didn't want anyone other than Chip himself.

As Ace cuddled against his chest, Chip felt such happiness that he thought if he had died at that moment he would never have regretted. The best way to go was with a smile on your lips and your heart filled with love, after all.
That thought made him pause mentally, as Ace looked up at him again. Even as Chip looked at Ace's sparkling eyes, he had to swallow. Never before had the word "love" been so close to his lips. He had never said it to anyone, at least not so that he would have meant it. And now he was so willing to say it to Ace? The overwhelming feeling that thought brought to him made him shiver ever so slightly as Ace reached up to kiss him, and the touch of the boy's tongue on his lips made him close his eyes and pull the blond into his arms even tighter. He never wanted to let go.
That moment drawed on into a small forever in Chip's mind. A good kind of forever. It felt to him like he could sense every single touch, every single sound, smell, separately and clearly, deep inside him.
It was the water that woke him from that momentary state of timelessness. The water that embraced them both, the water he could feel licking on every inch of skin on his feet. The water that had nearly swallowed him only a little while ago.
How precious life was. Chip was one to handle life-threatening situations extremely well, but every time something like this happened it made him remember how little time you had, in the end. And what a wonder every moment was. Especially a moment like this.
And why should you waste another breath, hiding behind a mask?
He pulled his head back from the kiss and looked at Ace in the eyes. The words of love were right there, in his mind, on his tongue. He wanted to say it, but something held him back. He had never said it even to Dan. His dearest friend. His first crush. But this was something so much different, with Ace. Something he didn't have a name for.
Something he was afraid to name, for the fear it might break the spell he felt like he was under.
[[poetic... but I get that way with love. ;D]]

Looking up at Chip as he pulled away, Ace wondered what he was thinking. He wanted to ask, hoping maybe Chip was thinking the same thing he was. But what if he wasn't? What if he was just happy to be here, with attachments that weren't as strong? Hadn't Chip mentioned before that he had a history of relationships with guys like him? What if he was just another case to tackle and fix up, what if he started losing interest now that he'd solved the puzzle? What if Chip was only sticking around now that the possibility of sex was there? Would he come off sounding like some love-sick kid by saying it too early?
He thought he could see his love reflected in Chip's eyes, but he still wasn't completely certain. He was so used to dealing with relationships where he knew exactly what the other person was thinking. All those years with Starlight, he had known every day that she had been totally, completely in love with him. He knew where he stood with Princess, knew how devoted she was to him. Every other person who had ever shown interest had made it painfully clear that they could not function properly without him. He'd made certain of that.
But now, with Chip? Chip didn't need him, like the others had needed him. He was older, more settled into life and he knew exactly who he was and what he was doing. There was no need for any kind of clarity that a relationship could bring, he was probably just looking for someone to fill the empty spot, wasn't he?
As much as he loved the change that came with letting Chip be the aggressive one in control, this particular change was eating at him. It dawned on him suddenly-- he needed Chip. Aside from his mother, he didn't really need anyone else. He loved his friends and didn't want to be without them, but as of right now he didn't actually need any of them. They were the ones who needed him, who depended on him. But now he was the one who needed Chip, who depended on him. But Chip didn't actually need him, did he? He could walk away and though he might miss Ace at first, he would find someone else and happily move on, right? Ace knew that if Chip were to leave him right now, he would be devastated.
So he came back to the issue of love. Maybe he should just wait and see if Chip was going to say it. Maybe he should test him a little, see just how strong his possible love could be. As the thoughts crossed his mind, though, he felt extremely guilty. Hadn't he tested Chip enough already? Hadn't he just said earlier that he trusted him more than anyone? So why was he suddenly backing off now? Was he always going to be plagued with these thoughts his entire life? Could he not just be happy, and stay happy for at least a whole day without questioning anything? At least a few hours?
(Feel the angst!! *hugs Ace* The poor boy over-analyzes everything;)

[[hehehe poor Acey... he just can't just enjoy the moment. ]] Chip wasn't sure what he saw in Ace's eyes as the silence continued between them. He thought he saw uncertainty, maybe even insecurity, but he wasn't good enough to interpret Ace's expression fully. But that, a little lost expression on the boy's face made him smile a little and put his hand on Ace's cheek, gently. It only made the boy look more adorable to him. He still felt the coldness of the sea around his feet, and his smile faded a little as he looked at Ace. He realised he was in charge of the relationship in any case. While Ace might have meant to him too much for it to be painless if he should walk away, he knew that being the first to utter those words would not make him weaker. It might make him stronger. But it could only be his mother tongue that those words could come for the first time from his lips. "Amo te, il mio amore," he said, speaking softly. Then, recalling that Ace couldn't understand the language, he smiled a little. "I'm sorry... Italian comes... more naturally." He couldn't bring himself to say those words in English. Somehow, the barrier had always been greater that way. Perhaps it was because less people around him understood Italian. It felt more private, more intimate.
