"Aww, Rooker." Arielle smiled warmly. "You don't have to do that."
She leaned in close to him as they walked. Without thinking it through, she allowed her head to rest on his shoulder.

Rooker felt a warm gush enter his body from the spot where Arielle rested her head on him, and spread all round him. He wasn't sure what it was, but he knew he liked the nice fuzzy feeling it left behind. This time, it made him less nervous and more like a puddle of jello.
"I want to," he insisted. "Although you can't order anything very expensive. I spent most of my allowance already." He realised how kid-like that might have sounded, and blushed. "But I'll get more for tomorrow if I'll just ask, and we can come again."
He felt like hitting his head against a tree. Dumb! he told himself.

Arielle lifted her head and looked at the boy. Shock was written on her face. "You get an allowance, too? I thought I was the only one!" She allowed herself to giggle.
"Besides..." She smiled again. "I don't want to break you."

At the look of shock on her face, Rooker was at first certain he had blown it completely. But her words made him grin involuntarily.
Her latter words made him smile a bit more though.
"Oh, don't worry about that," he said. "My family gets along really well. I don't think one meal will really break them, and they pay for it, after all. Hey, maybe we could go catch a movie sometime?" He chose to speak quickly, so he wouldn't lose courage. "Some scifi, maybe, to help with your project?"

"If you're certain." She smiled, happy to hear that Rooker's family was doing alright. She always worried about the people in her life and if they were okay.
"A movie? I'd love that." The smile on her lips turned a little devious. "Are you sure we'd actually be watching it?" Arielle was surprised at how easy it was for her to joke around with the boy.

Rooker's face was honestly perplexed. "What else would we be doing?" he asked, not realising her meaning even as an afterthought. [[aww he's my innocent lil' baby... ]]

[[He's so cute!! lol]]
Arielle licked her lips and grinned. "Nothing." With a smirk, she placed her head back onto the boy's shoulder.
In all honesty, she was relieved he didn't know what had been implied. It was a clue that he wasn't just asking her out for the sex.

[[ ;D]]
Rooker smiled happily, though a little uncertainly. He thought he might best ask one of his online friends what she might have meant. He was a little afraid he might have made an ass out of himself. But she didn't seem to be laughing at him. Actually, she had not laughed at him once.
Maybe she actually did like him, and not just say so. The thought sent Rooker's head reeling.

As the cafe came into view, Arielle pried herself off of the boy and smiled up at him. "After you." She motioned toward the entrance of the building. Their belongings remained at the table where they had left them.

Rooker stopped when Arielle tried to make him go in first. He felt himself terribly valiant and shook his head, taking a knightly position at the door, holding his hands as though he had a spear, and motioned to her.
"No no, ladies first," he insisted, grinning.
He couldn't believe that he was actually joking with her! What was the matter with him? But she was so... easy to be with. She didn't laugh at him - the wrong way.

Arielle smiled and cursied. "Why thank you, kind sir."
She walked into the cafe, and turned to wait for Rooker. He was so polite.

Rooker felt himself immensely strong and knightly after Arielle thanked him and went in first. He smiled and walked a little bit straighter as he followed her inside and hurried to hold a chair out for her before sitting down himself.
He felt even so strong and knightly that he lifted up his hand and snapped his fingers to draw the attention of a waitress. The feeling crumbled quickly, when he found he simply couldn't make any noise snapping his fingers. He had never really learned that part. He blushed but tried to smooth it over by waving to the waitress instead.

There was a crooked smile on the girl's lips as she watched Rooker and thanked him for being so chivalrous. As the boy failed to produce a sound by snapping his fingers, the smile grew.
Without saying a word, Arielle raised both of her hands and snapped her fingers. A strange, muffled noise was produced. She had no idea how to snap her fingers either.

Rooker smiled, getting over some of his embarrassment as Arielle snapped her fingers mutely as well.
"You're really the nicest girl I know, you know," he said. "Anyone else would have laughed at me already." He looked down and shifted his hands in his lap.

Arielle's head tilted to the side and she smiled softly. "Thank you." Her eyes shifted down to the table and then back up to Rooker. "Then again, I could say the same to you... well, you're the nicest boy I've met."
