(cont from the school)
Chase grinned as Chloe pinched his cheek, nodding his head in agreement. "I certainly am the best big brother ever. It's a hard job with a brat like this one, but we make it work." Chase grinned and winked at Chloe, glad for the distance between he and Holland.
"Jerk." Holland glared at Chase a moment before sitting back in her seat, a grin on her face. She also adored the song on the radio and when Chloe started moving in her seat, Holland decided to join in.
Chase didn't say anything as the girls began swaying in their seats, a light smile on his lips. It had been a good idea to invite Chloe along, it was nice seeing her act a bit more normal and not so outlandish and attention-seeking.
He pulled in to the parking lot of the shopping mall, lucking out and finding a newly-vacated spot by the entrance. He pulled in, looking at the girls before shutting off the car. "Want me to wait til the song's over?"

Chloe couldn't help but to smile a true, genuine smile as Holland began to sway back and forth with her. It was really nice just to be normal. Even if it was only for a couple of minutes.
"Yes please." Chloe replied, "We'll love you forever if you do."
Mentally she wanted to slap herself silly. Had she really just said 'love you forever' to the guy she had the world's biggest crush on? She had. Idiot.

When the song ended, Chloe glanced from first Holland than to Chase than back to Holland again.
"So troop, are we going in or just sitting in the car all afternoon?"
Not that Chloe cared. Either way she got to hang out with her best friend and the guy she was crushing on. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.
Slipping her arms out of the sleeves of the jacket she let it slide it off of her shoulders. She could have left it on, yes. But she had only promised to wear it all day at school.

Chase looked and Chloe and frowned. "What, you mean you don't love me already? I'm hurt." He winked before looking at Holland, who shook her head at him.
"Okay, Chloe's got the right idea, let's go. I want to do some shopping damn it!" Holland pushed the door open, stepping out into the sunlit afternoon. She pushed her sunglasses from the top of her head down to the bridge of her nose, stepping back to give Chloe room to get out.
Chase shut off the car and got out, pushing the door closed behind him. He had noticed Chloe slip the jacket off but said nothing, only smiled. He was surprised she had kept it on at school all day. It was a start at least.

The left side of Chloe's mouth turned up into a smile at the comment. Well of course she did, but she sure as hell wasn't going to admit it.
Scooting over until she reached the door Chloe stepped out, closing the door behind her. Taking in a deep breath she slowly let it out.
"So where to first?" Chloe asked keeping in step with the other two.
Odds were someone had an idea as to where they wanted to go. Chloe was up for anything. And who knew maybe she'd actually find something not so revealing to take home with her.
Inwardly she rolled her eyes. She had more store credit cards than she knew what to do with. Helpful and convenient, yes. But of no use when there isn't a thing to eat in the house. She really needed to bring that point up again, not that it would do any good.

Chase walked beside Chloe as Holland walked on her other side, heading for the entrance to the mall. Holland got to the door first, holding it open for Chloe and letting go once Chase grabbed it. Standing just inside the entrance Holland waited until Chase joined them, he'd been holding the door open for a woman with a stroller. Holland grinned and looked at her brother. "You're such a charmer, loser."
Chase looked offended before slinging an arm around his sister's shoulders. "And you are a total brat."
Holland laughed and pinched his arm, starting off down the hallway, not really sure where she wanted to go just yet. As they were walking down though Holland looked up ahead, a smile on her lips. "Hey, it's the married couple." She grinned and watched as Sunny, her other best friend, walked down along the opposite side of the hall with her boyfriend, Rex.
Sunny had been too oblivious to everything around her to have heard Holland's comment but it hadn't fallen deaf on Rex's ears. He smiled at Holland and nudged Sunny, who looked over and saw Holland grinning. Realizing that she was probably the butt of another "married couple" line she rolled her eyes.
"Hey loser, how's it going?" She grinned and stood with Rex in front of Holland, Chloe, and Chase.
Chase and Rex embraced briefly, not having seen one another in a few weeks, as the girls chatted.

Chloe shook her head at the two. It was amazing how well they seemed to get along, even when calling one another names. She knew everyone didn't get along so well, but still she couldn't help but think at times they did.
The teenager chuckled. Sunny and Rex really did make a great couple. A rather sexy one even. Had they truly been married Chloe was pretty well convinced that those two would be the sexiest married couple alive.
"So what brings you love birds out?" Chloe ventured to ask.

Sunny shrugged at Chloe's comment. "I was actually out with Pekoe, shopping. We met up with Jeremy by the food court and hung out for a while, I bought a skirt then Rex called me and I left those two together." Sunny bit down on her lower lip for a moment, staring between Holland and Chloe. "They're probably slutting it up in the food court, still. I told him to take it easy on her and not mess around, as you both know his reputation, and a heartbroken Pekoe is the last thing I need to deal with after dealing with her this summer." Sunny laughed, as did Holland, knowing all too well what Sunny was talking about.
"We'll have to keep an eye out for them then. I'm sure Chase would take great delight in splitting them up." Holland winked at her brother, who nodded.
"Yes, I can't deny that." He looked over at Rex, hen back at Sunny. "Well we should let you guys go, seeing that you were heading for the exit. Have a good night guys."
Sunny quickly hugged Holland and Chloe, then turned to Chase and hugged him too, bidding them all a good night before plastering herself back to Rex's side. Holland stood and watched them leave. "They are absolutely so adorable. In all the years I've known her, I have never seen her so giddy and gleeful around someone."

Chloe grinned, "Yes grandpa likes to make sure everyone behaves."
She thought of making some comment about it being past his naptime, but couldn't bring herself to do so. There was something about naptime and Chase in the same sentence that made her want to laugh. She wasn't sure why, but she was certain she was smiling like an idiot right than.
Chloe returned the hug before saying good-bye. Nodding her head she couldn't help but to agree. They really were great together.
"Now if only we could find you a man." Chloe replied knowing full well that the very idea would most likely be met with protests from Chase.

Holland grinned at Chloe's comment, looking at Chase. "Are you talking about me or Chase?"
Chase looked at her, a shocked expression on his face. He began shaking his head in protest. "No, no, no! There will be no men for any of us, same goes for you." He looked at Chloe disapprovingly, though only in a joking manner.
"Oh come on, you let Ace kiss you all the time, you must enjoy it." Holland replied, half amused and half jealous. It was true, when he was in a playful mood, Ace was surprisingly extremely affectionate with Chase. It all made Holland just a little jealous.

Chloe chuckled, "Well I had meant you Holly. But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to do a little hunting for Chase either." Shaking her head the teenager said, "What do you mean no men for any us, including me?"
The mention of Ace kissing Chase brought this morning flooding back and Chloe couldn't help but to smile widely.
"You know she has a point." Chloe stated very seriously, "Just this morning you two were at it again."
If there were some way to arrange it so that Holland would end up with Ace while she nabbed Chase, Chloe would have done it in a heartbeat. But really how do you tell one of your closest friends that you'd like to jump her brother?

Chase was about to reply to Chloe, when she and Holland brought up Ace. "That's not my fault, he's the one who kisses me damn it! Besides, I'll take friendly Ace over bitchy Ace any day, even if it means I have to act gay with him." Chase laughed, realizing that they did have a point. Why did he let Ace be so cuddly with him all the time? Was it simply his protective instincts for his best friend kicking in, letting him do whatever he wanted so he would remain happy? Or did he actually enjoy it, to some extent? It certainly seemed to make the girls happy, that was for sure.
Holland grabbed one of Chase's arms, linking hers through his. "My bad, bro. I know you're not gay, at least not yet. Now let's go shopping, come on Chloe. We'll keep him between us so we can ward off any gaydars who pick him up." Holland laughed, as Chase sighed and stuck his arm out for Chloe.

"Mmhmm." Chloe nodded.
She could have made several smart-alec comments back, but choose instead to hold her tongue. Sometimes it just wasn't worth opening her mouth. And odds were every one of those comments were ones Chase had heard before anyway. Which really sucked all the fun out of saying them anyway.
"Well we can try." Chloe replied with a grin, "But you know we might have a hard time keeping them at bay with a nice looking boy like this."
Accepting the arm, Chloe linked hers through his. While she had only been half serious a moment ago the truth remained that Chase and Ace were really close. What was to say they weren't closer than either girl realized? While one part of her had to admit the thought of those two together made her mouth water, while another part of her wanted to cry.

Chase shrugged, a smile on his face. "Well I suppose it could be worse. After all I can always use the two of you if any undesirable girls start hitting on me." He walked between them, laughing as Holland muttered comments about his reply.
They walked for a bit until they came up to one of Holland's favourite stores, Urban Behaviour. "Oooh, time to shop." Slipping her arm out of Chase's, Holland immediately went to the rack of tank tops.
Chase smiled and looked down at Chloe. "Guess its only you and me, unless you leave me to look at clothes too."

Chloe rolled her eyes at Chase's remark as she asked, "So what are you going to do? Push us in their direction while you make a break for it?"
Glancing up at the store Chloe chuckled softly to herself. A nice store. But did she really need another tank top? Not really.
"And leave you all by yourself?" Chloe replied, "Is that safe?"
