Leaving her grandmother at home with an in home nurse, that her grandma had thought was just someone who wanted to learn to knit Bunny had headed out to run some errands. Her errands finished and finding herself in need of a break she headed over to one of the best places in town for a cup of coffee.
Pushing the door open the young woman walked with a seductress’s grace as she stepped inside. After years of having to look a certain way, walk a certain way, even dress certain ways for certain people she often times didn't realize that she was doing so. Sliding onto the nearest seat at the counter, long legs crossed in front of her. Smiling she waited until the customer who was placing an order had gotten what they asked for before placing her own order for an espresso.

Chuck, a twenty-five year old business student at Ryerson University, took Bunny's order for an espresso and made it quickly for her, placing it on the counter in front of her with a bit of flirty charm, taking the opportunity to flirt with a hot girl.
"Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie, don't listen." Bones walked up to the counter from behind Bunny, a smile on his face as he looked at Chuck and shrugged.
"Way to keep a brother down, Bones. You at least wash that knife before jabbing it in this time?" Chuck playfully jabbed back at his co-worker, leaning over the counter on his elbows.
"I'm just looking out for the lady, that's all." Bones took a seat beside Bunny, looking up at the overhead menu of drinks. "I'll have a vanilla hazelnut latte there, my boy, make it snappy and on the house." Bones grinned at Chuck, who shook his head.
"Make it yourself, musclehead."
"Can't do that, shift ended and you know how stingy the boss is about us working overtime. So go on, make my brew, bitch." Bones laughed as Chuck frowned good-naturedly and went to get Bones' drink. He looked at Bunny and smiled, "so how's your day been? The morning shift went by surprisingly quickly, I'm quite pleased to note."

A playful smile formed on Bunny's lips as she watched Chuck place the drink before her.
"Everything?" Bunny asked with a slightly raised eyebrow.
Really she wasn't interested anyway. But it never hurt to flirt. After all one could always pick up something useful to try on a client.
Coiling her hands around the cup, she slipped two fingers through the handle before picking it up. The warmth tingled her fingers. Sipping at the espresso she watched the two as they exchanged playful, for the most part anyway, banter. Setting the cup back on the counter she turned her head to look at Bones as he spoke. Her eyes rarely left the speaker's eyes. A bad habit perhaps but one that she'd picked up along the way to please her customers.
"Better than yesterday." Bunny replied, "Glad you weren't bored. Never good to be bored with work."
Though she used the word work loosely. In truth she was thinking maybe it would be nice to actually do something besides laying on a bed for 'work'.

Bones nodded, "no being bored at work sucks, though luckily I'm hardly ever bored here. I quite lucked out with this place I think, it's fun." He accepted the cup Chuck handed him, taking a sip from it. "So, is your grandmother happy with her new knitting partner so we can hang out for a while?" Bones had been rather surprised at the change in himself since graduating high school. Many of his friends he'd had in school were drifting away, too caught up in partying and drinking while he was finding himself drawn to more relaxed and comfortable atmospheres. Which was one reason why he'd taken to spending time with Bunny more now, she wasn't exactly into partying with the crowd either. He supposed they both were simply too responsible for their friends their age, with Bunny taking care of her grandmother and himself trying to protect his little sister from the negative influence of their parents.

"That must be nice." Bunny replied uncoiling her fingers from around the cup.
Blue eyes crinkled slightly at the corners; "They seem to be getting along wonderfully. Grams' thinks it's great that someone Nancy's age wants to learn how to knit. And Nancy is just a dream come true. She's taken to Grandma as though she's known her all her life. I think that helps. Grams doesn't seem to notice when I leave anymore."
There was a definite look of contentment on Bunny's face as she spoke. She was grateful that there had been someone willingly to secretly be Grams nurse without her knowing it and she was delighted that her grandmother had taken to the younger woman so quickly.
"So what have you been up to lately when not playing here?" Bunny asked, "Anything as fun as this?"

Bones noticed the happy look on Bunny's face and smiled, glad his friend could afford to have more time to herself now. When she asked about him though, the smile slipped from his face and he shrugged. "Eh, what can I say? I spend most of my time trying to keep Pekoe out of trouble, though it seems to be failing miserably. I think I'm getting too much like a father for her, but I can't help it. The last thing I want is for her to turn out like our mother, but she seems destined for it. It's worse now because she's been seeing some guy and she won't tell me anything about him, I've never even met him." He started swirling the coffee around in his cup, unable to stop his tirade. But he couldn't help it, he didn't talk to many people about his sister, not expecting them to understand his need to look out for her.
"Sometimes I think I'm being too protective, but she worries me. She's changed a lot this past year, she used to be really happy and cheerful and now a lot of the time she just gets grumpy and pessimistic. I just want her to be safe and happy, you know? I just wish I could move out and take her with me, I hate her being at home, especially when I'm not there. I don't think I've seen her and mom speak two civil words to each other in months, I know she's unhappy. And to make matters worse, Sunny's been telling me how Peeks seems distant a lot now, a few times she's mentioned how she just doesn't feel like she belongs with her friends because they're all well off with good families and she's not. But she won't even talk to me about it." He leaned one elbow on the table and slumped against it, glancing back at Bunny after having realized he'd averted his gaze during his speech to his coffee cup. He tried to smile as he looked at her, "so that's my life outside of work. Parenting my little sister." He hadn't meant to get all depressive, but he had a feeling he'd just needed to vent to someone about it.

Bunny quietly listened to what Bones was saying. She knew where Pekoe was coming from, at least in part. The whole not fitting in with others because of their being well off was all too familiar and even now it still stung a little to think of those who had shunned her because she didn't have the things they did. Life sucked sometimes.
Reaching out to let her hand rest on his Bunny said, "I'm sorry Bones."
She wished there was something more she could say. But what? She wasn't good with this sort of thing. This was Dash's department. He always knew what to say. Damn him anyway.
"Maybe she just needs a little space from everything?" Bunny suggested not knowing what else to say.
"What would it take to get you both out of there?" Bunny asked.
There was a seriousness in her eyes as she looked at Bones. She wasn't giving him anything; she was offering help if she could in fact be of any help. They always need more people to work the bar at the club. And it wasn't like Bruno couldn't use another bouncer. Crappy hours, yes but the pay was good.

"She definitely needs a break, I'd love to just go away somewhere together, a vacation or something. I just want her away from our parents." He saw the look in her eyes when she asked the question, wondering what was in her mind. "A lot of money. Not only for rent and groceries and everything else, but furniture. The only thing we could really take when we leave is our clothing, whatever other personal stuff we have. I wouldn't want anything from them anyway, we don't need any reminders of our parents." He paused and glanced down at her hand on his before looking back up at her. "Why do you ask? You formulating some sordid plan in your mind?" He grinned, happy to hear anything she might suggest.
*You know what I realized? We need a board for the strip club, hehe. Any idea what it's called?*
