Ace looked at Phin gratefully, a genuine smile on his face. "Thanks. I appreciate that and the same goes for you, if you ever want to contemplate what your dreams mean again." When Phin mentioned a waiter Ace nodded, looking up at luckily locking eyes with one. Nodding his head at the young man, he looked back at Phin. "Decided what you're going to have?"

Phin smiled and winked at Ace. He was glad to finally have someone to confide in. But right now, food was all that he could think of.
"I have." He nodded. That veggie burger and fruit was really calling to him.

Happy that Phin was willing to let the subject go so easily, Ace was feeling quite content. The waiter came over and the boys ordered their meals. "So Phin, what's the biggest difference you've noticed between people here and people back in England?" He figured he would stick to a safer topic for the time being.

Phin took a sip of the water that the waiter had brought when taking their orders. "The accent..."
The expression on the teen's face made it impossible to tell whether or not he was joking. Truth be told, he wasn't. That was the biggest difference, and the most obvious. Yes, Phin had a gift for stating the obvious.

Ace smiled at Phin's comment, highly amused. "You know, if you had talked to me last month right after I came back from Sweden, I would have still had an accent. It's crazy, I can speak perfectly regular sounding, non-accented English, but everytime I come back from Sweden I have a pretty heavy accent for a few days. Even sometimes when I talk to my relatives on the phone in Swedish, depending upon the length of the conversation, my English is a little accented afterwards. It amuses people to no end, the jerks." He laughed a little, remembering how as soon as he'd come back, it seemed that everyone had wanted to talk to him just to hear his accented English. "But aside from accents, what else is different? I've actually never visited Britain, though I've been just about everywhere else in Europe. How are they there? People in Sweden are way more laid back then they are here, I find this continent to be a little too proper. People need to relax more about certain things."

"You speak Swedish?" Phin was impressed. "I'll have to hear that sometime."
When Ace brought up the topic of behavior, he had to agree. This continent was very rigid. "Well, the kids are bloody nuts." He laughed slightly. "Britain is very... perverted, I must say. Then again, all of Europe is. Anyway, the kids are pretty cool. They're all energetic, sexual predators in my opinion. But the parents... they're another story." He took another sip of his water. "My parents were part of the upper class society, so all of the adults were extremely stuck up and, well, they're a bunch of prudes. They're kids would all act and dress properly during the day and then at night they'd go out to all of these crazy underground clubs. I, of course, contributed to that." He had to wink at the blonde. "But when you go further downtown, parents and adults got more relaxed and open. I hated being stuck uptown. It was so boring. And of course, you must have wonderful speech and manners there." A sigh sounded from the teen as he leaned back. "They've tainted my speech forever, that's for sure. Even now I still have the remnants of an accent, and I over pronounce everything."
He waved his hands around to bring attention to the way he was sitting. "This would earn me a royal kick in the ass if I back there."
[Ah, how I love pulling information out of my ass. lol Oh well. I know nothing about the way they act there.. but hey, I've seen their television shows. o_O]

(Haha, aren't we all pulling stuff out of our asses with these kids? ;)
Ace smiled at Phin, "Swedish is my first language, I didn't start learning English until I was about five, actually. So I had a ridiculously heavy accent when I first moved here, like you. My family was also rather high class, with the exception being that the parents weren't quite as bad as yours, at least not when everyone is at home. If we ever went out anywhere then sure, everyone was extremely snotty and stuck up, including the kids. In fact if I ever brought any of my friends to visit Sweden with me, they'd probably run home crying. My cousins especially can get pretty rude, I have to admit, and their parents just laugh at them. And of course we always hit the clubs to go out dancing pretty much every night of the week. Since the legal age is only 14 there for clubs, it made things much easier. I really miss that. I go out pretty often here, but that requires me getting a fake ID and getting to know the club owners and staff. It's fun here, but I really miss Europe."

"I know what you mean. After being raised in England, I've grown to love the bloody country." The more he relaxed, the thicker his accent grew. Along with the use of British terms and phrases. "In fact, I even miss it."
Phin's attention slowly trailed off. His eyes wandered the room for a couple of minutes before returning to Ace. "Law is starting to get interesting. I kind of worried when they stuck me in that class in the beginning." There he was, jumping from one thing to the next again.

Ace shared Phin's feelings, most of the time he couldn't wait for this year to be over so he could move back to Europe. He knew he belonged in Europe, it was suited to his personality better. Not to mention when he was home, his problems seemed to wash away.
When Phin mentioned law class, Ace grinned. "Law should get even more interesting. Speaking of which, it should be fun when we do the trial. Just don't take anything Starlight or I throw at you on the stand personally. It's pervy Peter Pan we're after." He winked at Phin, then saw that their food was arriving. He was happy to see it, as he was quite starved.

Phin smiled to the waiter and thanked him for their food. His attention returned to Ace. "I've always been very fascinated by the story of Peter Pan. I don't know why."
The scent of his veggie burger lured Phin's attention to the plate sitting in front of him. Wasting no time, he took a big bite of the burger, making sure to keep his mouth closed when chewing. There was a look of appreciation on the boy's face as he swallowed. "This is orgasmic."

Ace smiled at the Peter Pan comment, finding it odd that some of Phin's own story mimicked the children's tale, but decided to keep it to himself. Maybe the child in him had adopted the classic to explain his own dark past, only giving him small glimpses every now and then. He'd inquire more about it some other day.
He watched Phin chomp down on the burger, amused, as he picked up one of his baked pita slices and dipped it into the spinach and cheese dip, taking a bite of it and having the same feeling Phin had about his burger. He didn't often indulge in less-than-healthy foods, but those he did eat he made sure he enjoyed. Taking a sip of water, he shook his head as he looked back at Phin. "I'm glad you like it. Can't say I'm a fan of veggie-burgers, surprisingly enough. I need my meat beefy." He winked at Phin as he made the comment.

Phin smiled and sipped at his water. "I avoid meat." It was a fact that not many knew, but the teen was horrified by the thought of eating something that was once alive. With the exception of plants, of course.

"Why is that? Parents vegetarians, or is it something you just adopted on your own?" He'd never really understood why anyone would ever go the vegetarian route, meat was one thing in his diet he would never give up.

"Something I just decided to do." He shrugged. "I mean, I'll meat if I have to... but otherwise I try to avoid it."
He took another bite of his burger, there was barely anything left of it at this point. Once he swallowed, Phin stared at his plate. "I didn't realize how hungry I was."
