A stroll through the park(Monday, around 6 pm)

Graceful strides carried Nicolette through the park. Her emerald and white gown swept along the dirt path as she walked. Her bonnet protected her fair complexion from the bit of sun that shown through the tree's branches. The park was absolutely stunning at this time of day. It made Nicolette long for her old home in New Orleans. Sometimes the enormous park was the only place she could escape to, aside from the woods.

Strangers watched as the strange girl passed by. She looked like Scarlett O'Hara in her beautiful evening gown and bonnet. Her hands were covered in fingerless, white lace gloves. The girl really was a beauty.

Breathing deeply Logan inhaled the sweet fragrance of flowers. Most likely the last of the season. Summer was drawing to a close. Or would be within the next month. Fall was bound to come leaping nimbly over to color the leaves.

Eyes focused everywhere but the path in front of him Logan barely noticed if he walked on the cobble path or grass. His gaze was on the trees and the twists and turns of their branches. One tree in particular had caught his attention, a gnarly old oak that started one way and wound up going in another all together. There was something about that twisted and bent over tree that drew Logan to it, like a moth to a flame. He could sit for hours just staring at it. For reasons even he couldn’t quite figure out. But always he would come away with some new idea for something. There was little doubt in his mind that he would find something about this magnificent tree that would inspire him again today.

The bright sunlight caused his eyes to blink and Logan adverted his gaze for moment. Through blurry eyes he saw her. Like a vision from a dream. Or maybe she was. She certainly didn’t resemble any of the girls he’d seen around here before. But than had he really bothered to pay attention lately? He’d been so caught up in his work that Logan had barely done little other than sleeping. Even at times forgetting to eat.

Nicolette stopped in her tracks. A small, purple flower had grasped her attention. Bending down, she picked the lone flower and resumed walking. Her eyes were focused on the delicate creation in her hand as she walked.

Two toned eyes remained cast downward. Nicolette spun the flower in between her thumb and index finger. Her mind was absorbed in its simple beauty. She didn't even watch where her feet carried her. That is, until she practically ran into Logan.

The girl's eyes were wide as she looked up at the boy. Clasping a hand to her chest, she spoke. Her voice was laced with a Southern Belle accent. "I'm so sorry." Without thinking, she reached out and laid her hand on his arm. "I really need to watch where I'm going." Realizing that she was touching him, Nicolette slowly retracted her hand and smiled.

Logan was more than a little surprised when she bumped into him. A vision couldn't bump into people. So she was real. Unless his imagination was that powerful. Which he truly doubted. He wasn't the kind to daydream. At least not about girls.

"It's all right." Logan reassured her, "No harm done. Are you ok?"

He could feel his cheeks flushing. Her hand on his arm had taken him completely off guard.

Nicolette smiled. She was pleased he wasn't staring at her like she was some sort of monster. "I'm fine."

The flower spun absently in her fingers. She was staring at him now, trying to place him. He looked familiar. "I feel that I've seen you before..."

[LNS]

"Seen me?" Logan's voice sounded far away as the words came out of his mouth.

No one ever had seen him. He was part of the scenery. Or at least he had tried his best to be. Watching people was grand, but to have to interact with them almost killed the boy at times. He wasn't wishing he were elsewhere right than. Which for him was odd.

"I work on the scenery for plays at school." Logan offered.

Where else she could have seen him, he hadn't a clue. Maybe a class together, but no one recalled him from those ... unless it was wood shop. But really, what were the odds that she was in that class? A beauty like her, no. She looked more like she should have been a masterpiece hung in a museum.

[Sharise]

"Ah ha!" Nicolette smiled, her head bobbing up and down. "That's it."

She tilted her head. Gold and white ringlets fell across her shoulder. "Such a shame. You really should be on stage and not hiding behind the curtain." Two toned eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Nicolette was finding herself attracted to Logan. She had always seen him around school, but had never gotten the chance to speak to him.

[LNS]

Logan watched the gold and white ringlets bob up and down for a moment. The colors were lovely together, but it was the ringlets that had really caught his attention. He'd have to try doing something similar to the ringlets on something. He just wasn't sure what yet.

"On stage?" Logan's face flushed slightly at the very idea; "I don't think so." The teenager shook his head lightly; "I'm much better at working with my hands than memorizing things."

Besides how could he ever hope to focus on anything when a creature as breath-takingly gorgeous as Nicolette was nearby.

[Sharise]

Nicolette smiled sweetly. "Well, I do like a man who's good with his hands."

She was completely aware of the words that were coming from her mouth, but her angelic appearance said otherwise. Glancing around briefly, Nicolette decided to change the subject. She stepped beside the boy and locked her arm with his. "Escort me? I hate walking alone."

Logan wasn't exactly sure how to take the comment. She didn't look the type that slept around. Well he didn't think so. Sometimes it was near impossible to tell.

Glancing down at the arm linked with his, it took a moment for her words to register. When they did he nodded.

"It's nice sometimes." Logan finally managed to say.

He really had no idea what to say, let alone do. Guh. All that people watching and he was more clueless than his eight year old sister was.

Nicolette nodded. "I suppose."

She looked down at the small purple flower that was still in her hand. Without thinking, her feet began moving, pulling the two along. She was happy to have finally met Logan.

[LNS]

"It is nice to walk with someone." Logan said, "Sometimes they see things you miss." Smiling he added in, "Like a flower."

He was on pins and needles. No one, well no girl had ever paid him so much as a passing glance before. How was it that one of the most beautiful girls in school was talking to him? How had he lucked out? Logan just couldn't figure it out. But what good was puzzling it over?

Letting his feet follow hers, he felt almost like dancing. That was silly though. No one danced in the park. At least not without music.

[Sharise]

Nicolette giggled and looked down at the flower. She gently tickled Logan's nose with the violet petals. If he did, by some miracle, ask her to dance she would gladly take him up on the offer. Provided he could ball room dance.

[LNS]

Logan smiled as the soft petals grazed the end of his nose. His eyes said they wanted to dance, but the rest of him hadn’t a clue. Really he should have paid more attention when his mom had tried to teach him a few dances, like the waltz and tango. He was kicking himself now. Nicolette seemed the kind that wouldn’t object to dancing in the park. Even without music.

Nicolette looked around, a smile on her face. The pair continued to walk along the dirt path. The trees began to arch above the road, making for a beautiful canopy. The sound of water trickling over rocks could be heard. Nicolette knew this section of the park well.

"Come on..." Sliding her hand down Logan's arm, her fingers intertwined with his.

She began walking faster, holding the bottom of her dress with her free hand. Soon enough they arrived in a tiny clearing. A large, flat rock sat beside the creek. Trees kept the area hidden from the public. No one usually ventured this far into the park. It was one of the most peaceful areas in the busy city.
