Arielle stepped into the school's library. A small sigh slipped between her lips as she stared at her fate for the evening.
Stuck in a school library. On a Friday. What kind of a sick joke was this anyway?
Smirking at that thought, Arielle trekked her way through the pristine building. It felt more like an ill-equipped day care center than a library. It was no wonder she never liked entering this section of the school.
Making her way to a table in the far corner, she set down her notebook and purse. This project was going to be hell. Unless, of course, she could find some nice eye candy to stare at.

[[*lol* - I was just going to post something for him, actually. But I can have him be at the library just as well. ^-^]]
Rook had been sitting in the library for some hours now. He wanted to be in peace with his books for a while, and he knew hardly anyone ever came to the library, or if they did, they were unlikely to bother him. He was sitting at a table, a huge book spread out on the table, crouching over it to study the detailed description of a starship. He was involved with a Star Wars computer game with some of his online buddies at the moment, and he had been bitten by the technology bug. He was wearing a dark grey hoodie and faded jeans, his favourite comfortable clothes. He was completely absorbed in the book, and didn't notice anything at all around him as he scribbled down notes on his little notebook sometimes.

[[lol We have a wavelength! ;) And it's called a "hoodie". lol Not technically, that's just what everybody says.]]
Arielle cocked her head to the side as she stared down at the blank notebook page in front of her. She knew nothing about Science Fiction. How did her English teacher expect her to write a Sci Fi story? The bastard.
Pale eyes drifted around the library. One table over she recognized a very familiar face.
"Rooker?" She smiled a little. The boy had been in a few of her classes, and he seemed to talk just as little as her. But damn was he cute.

[[great, thanks! I edited it! ^-^ That's actually pretty alike to the word we have for it in Finnish. Eerie.]]
Rook, still completely absorbed by the little details of his book, didn't hear her or notice being noticed, not at first, anyway. He scribbled down a few more notes in his notebook, then a thought made its weary way into the part of his brain that actually paid attention to the rest of the world around him. That thought knew all too well that it would most likely be ignored for the most part, but it wanted to give it a shot anyway.
Slowly, persistently, the thought bored its way through into consciousness.
Someone had said something. Rook blinked and raised his eyes from the book, expecting to see one of his chess friends. Instead, he saw no one standing nearby, and he looked around a little baffled. Then his eyes hit on Arielle. He realised she was looking directly at him. His eyes went just a little wider and any possible greeting he might have meant to say died in his lips. Why was there a gorgeous girl looking at him?
When he realised looking dumb, he raised his other hand just a little, waving to her, hoping he wasn't blushing as much as he felt like.

[Omg, he's so cute. lmao]
Arielle was a little puzzled at first. Whatever he was reading must have been damn good. Or maybe he was ignoring her. No, no. He didn't seem like the type to ignore someone.
All thoughts began to fade as Rooker slowly started to wake up. The smile on Arielle's lips widened as the boy looked at her. He really was adorable. So shy. She loved that.
Without asking, she picked up her belongings and moved into the seat across from him. "Hi."

[[yes, he's a real doll *pets him* poor guy - you do realise he's going to freak out of all this attention ]] Rook had thought that she would have just smiled and continued with whatever it was that she was doing. He nearly panicked when she got up instead and sat so close to him. He swallowed and, rather wide-eyed, stared. "Uhh." He wasn't very used to talking with girls. Any girls. Except for Starlight and Bee. But they didn't pay so much attention to him, not even when they were playing together. He realised he had forgotten the crucial part of the greeting. "Hi." He had, of course, seen her before. He had admired her from afar, like he admired all girls. He had always been fascinated by her. She was one of the few chosen girls who had been given the honour of appearing as heroes in the stories he wrote. She was a beautiful mysterious sorceress of the Crystal Tower in those stories. He blushed a little when he remembered what the sorceress and his hero-character had ended up doing in the last episode he had written. Suddenly it was very difficult for him to look at her in the eyes, and he turned his eyes quickly down at the book still open before him.

Arielle giggled quietly. Rooker was such a sweetie. Unlike all the other idiots at their school. That was why he had always stood out in her mind. He was different. Like her.
She had no idea what was going through the boy's mind, but it must have been good because he looked a little... embarrassed. Trying to calm him down, she looked at the book spread out on the table. It was a spaceship.
An idea shot through her like lighting. "You like Sci Fi?" Her question was filled with hope. He could help her! What a wonderful excuse to stare at him a bit more.

Rook looked up carefully.
"Ummm." He felt embarrassed as he realised she had noticed his book. Well, it was large, so it was hard not to notice it, but he was so used to being invisible that he rather forgot that other people could see him. "Yeah. But I also like fantasy-stuff."
He realised at once after he had spoken that it was a mistake. She'd probably think him even more of a geek now. He felt like letting the earth swallow him.

Arielle didn't find him to be a geek at all. Especially sense she could often be seen with a large telescope attached to her eye at night.
"Do you think you could help me?" She bit one side of her lip. "I have to write a science fiction story for English, but I don't know a single thing about the genre."

Rook's face brightened up instantly, and he looked at her with a bit of a stupid smile.
"Sure!"
Wow. A girl was asking for help from him. From him! He couldn't believe it.
"I'm not sure where to begin though. Did you want to do something with spaceships and stuff or something more futuristic?"

Arielle felt lost as he began asking questions. Feeling a bit sheepish, she shrugged. "I have no idea. What's futuristic?"
She couldn't help but to chuckle and shake her head. "I'm horrible, aren't I?"

Rook smiled shyly. He wasn't used to being the expert on any given situation.
"No, it's ok, I mean, scifi isn't really something most people are into." He shrugged. "Well, I guess what I mean basically is that do you want to do something like Star Wars and Star Trek or like Matrix?"
[[I'm going to assume that SW, ST and Matrix exist in this world. Otherwise I'm lost, haha.]]

[[lol Same here. :P]]
Arielle had seen those. Maybe this wouldn't be too hard. Well, not yet at least.
"Mm... Matrix." She couldn't help but to love the allure of that movie. So many crazy theories, the possibilities were endless.

Rook grinned. He and his friends had endless debates on Matrix and the likes.
"Excellent choice," he complimented her, grinning. "Now, then, the first thing you need to decide is what kind of a world you want to create, and what you want to say with it. The best scifi stories always have a point, you know."

Arielle beamed. She had made a good choice. But now she had another question to answer.
"Mmm..." She bit her lip in thought and tilted her head. Locks of blue hair fell over her shoulder as she gazed off into the distance. "I would like it to have something to do with the galaxy and the universe." She straightened her head and looked at Rook. "I know a lot of astronomy so that would help... but... I don't know what kind of a point to make. I want there to be some sort of a lover story, though." She grinned. "You always have to have a bit of romance."
