Friday. What a day to begin school. It was the day to begin the weekend, damn it, not school. Toffee wasn't on his best mood as he drove into the parking lot in his sleek black car. Well, it was actually also Coffee's car, but everyone knew Coffee never drove. Except sometimes if his brother had accidentally drunk too much, but that happened so rarely that it didn't count. It was Toffee's car, by all right, and he was proud of it.
Coffee was sitting on the other front seat next to his brother, the usual serious look on his face. He was more nervous than his brother. He was always nervous on his first day in a new school. He didn't like making enemies, but usually Toffee managed to aggravate at least one guy badly enough to acquire enemies on his very first day. Of course, he also always made friends. But Coffee still didn't like the idea of ending up to the principal's office on their first day.
Toffee wasn't concerned of such things. He was determined on taking the best of this day, even if it was Friday and should have been spent outside and having fun instead of rotting inside some stuffy school. But then again, he was determined on making new conquest that day, and it brightened his mood as he slid out of the car and closed the door.
Toffee's honey coloured eyes scanned the parking lot for other cars. He spotted some rather fancy-looking ones, and memorised them at once. He wanted to know who they belonged to - staff or students. If students, he needed to know the names. A cool car usually meant at least somewhat a cool owner. And that usually meant competition.
He patted his car meaningfully while slipping a thumb into the belt loop of his jeans.
"Come on, Coughs, we don't wanna be late."
Coffee was clambering out of the car, and smiled briefly to his brother before reaching inside again and grabbing his bag. Then he closed the door, and as soon as the slam indicated it was closed, Toffee pressed the little button on his control and a bleeb announced that the car was locked. The honey-eyed boy conjured his most charming smile on his lips and threw his backpack on his shoulder.
"Let's go, bro," he said as he started walking toward the school building. "We've got a school to conquer."
Coffee, like the good boy he was, followed right behind his brother, keeping a wary eye around.

Jasmine stood on the front steps on the school, her usual spot to keep an eye on everyone as they came in. Her group of friends- the lackeys, as she liked to privately call them, all stood around her, talking about last night's episode of The OC. Truth be told, she couldn't stand the show but never let them know. At least it gave her an opportunity to disentangle herself from the conversation to scan the crowd.
This morning she watched as a new car pulled into the lot. Someone had a birthday recently perhaps? It was pretty nice, too nice for someone to just save up and buy, it had to be a birthday present. She watched curiously as the door opened, a little surprised when two brand new guys stepped out. They were pretty easy on the eyes, especially the driver. He had a certain attitude that caught her attention moreso than his looks.
She just hoped he would notice her checking him out and stop and say hello. Given her spot as student council president, it wouldn't be weird for her to inroduce herself first, but her mother had taught her that a decent guy would always say hello first. She didn't want to seem desperate, after all.

Toffee, of course, noticed Jasmine nearly instantly as the twins closed in on the school door. He also noticed her eyes going over him - in a way he much liked. His smile lit up his honeygold eyes a little more, and he kept his eyes on her as he walked closer to the girls. Coffee, of course, followed behind.
Toffee walked leisurely to the girls, and then stopped right in front of the little group, his eyes directly on Jasmine as he gave her the "Stare". It had won him many girls in the past.
"Hello, gorgeous," he said to Jasmine with his smooth, almost purring voice. There was a certain cat-like quality about Toffee which he had practiced for years and of which he was tremendously proud.
Coffee remained close by, unspoken.

Jasmine turned on her own charming smile, which had won her many hearts (of which she'd had to break, of course) and pushed herself away from the wall and extended her hand out to Toffee. "Hi yourself, hottie." She gave him a wink as she shook his hand. "I'm Jasmine, and it's my duty as student council president" ensure she put enough inflection into the words to stress their importance, "to welcome you to Meadowbrook and offer my services as a guide to these halls." She hoped he would accept her offer, she rather wanted to get away from her friends for a little bit to be honest. The girls were a little too catty about celebrities right now and it was annoying her.

Toffee was happy. A girl company on the very first day. And what a girl she was! She had a nice exotic air about her, which he liked very much.
"The pleasure is all mine, my dear," he said and took her hand, but instead of shaking it he picked it up and planted a kiss on its backside, his honey coloured eyes looking mischievously up at her from under his dark brow. "My, if I'd known I'd get such a pretty escort all to myself I would have come earlier to get a headstart." He gave a laugh and let go of her hand, throwing his forelock back from over his eyes. "My name's Toffee Sullivan," he introduced himself, and then nodded over his shoulder to his twin. "And this is my other half, Coffee."
Coffee nodded to her politely. The twins were nearly identical in facial features - the only thing that clearly separated them from one another were their colouring and clothing.

Jasmine smiled when he kissed her hand- this one definitely knew how to play the game, and nodded to Coffee. He was quite nice looknig as well, but it was obvious that Toffee was the leader of the two brothers. Thus, he would be the one getting the majority of her attention.
Turning to her friends, Jasmine put on a smile. "Well then girls, I'm off to tour the school with the new boys. See you guys later." She promptly turned and looped an arm through Toffee's, extending her other one for Coffee to take if he so desired. "Well then, let's be off." They made their way into the school, walking into the hallway. "So, is there anything you're just dying to know about this place? Seeing as how you have my attention," she looked up at Coffee, smirking, "feel free to ask me anything about anyone."

Toffee, of course, took her arm gladly, but it was only after a prompting nod from his brother that Coffee did the same. Toffee smiled confidently as he walked with her. He could see Jasmine was of the leading type. And an alpha male need an alpha female by his side, does he not?
"Well, I want to be filled in on the who's who department," he said at once. "If I want to know the important people," he winked, "who do I need to know?"

Jasmine smiled, this one was definitely her type. "Well now, that depends on which group you wish to be a part of." Her eyes twinkled with delight, discussing school politics was one of her favourite things to do. "There are basically two main factions of popular kids, since that's what you care about. We pretty much got divided when we started high school, to be honest. It all came down to two boys and their little break-up, as I like to call it." Jasmine laughed. "Those two would be Ace and Lightning. I happen to be in Lightning's camp." Originally, Jasmine had been intent on following Ace, but that was quickly re-thought when he denied her advances. If there was one thing she had learned, it was to not waste time on someone who was not after you to begin with. Now if anyone ever asked, she denied that she had ever been interested in him. "They used to be best friends in junior high, but then things went bad when we started here. Lightning's the star of the track team and Ace is the star of the soccer team. Nothing like a little athletic competition, if I may say so." She paused a moment to smile politely at a group of guys from the football team. "You'll find there's no middle ground in this battle, it's either one or the other. There's no real distinction between the different groups either, we're all snobby and pretentious, we're just on different sides."

Toffee laughed cheerfully at her depiction of the school politics. He loved plotting. He loved messing up other people's relationships. And he loved involving himself in different brands of school politics. He rather liked Jasmine. He figured he might as well go along with her side for the time being. He could always just swing back anytime he chose to.
"I see," he said, then appeared to muse on the information for a while. "I suppose I shall choose the one who crossed my way first." He smirked. "Though tell me one thing, my dear - from a woman's perspective... just exactly how... hot is this Lightning-person?"
He was slightly concerned that he wouldn't want to go on either side. After all, what Toffee wanted was to be the King of the whole school. So if this Lightning seemed like a threat, he would need to eliminate him as well as this Ace, whoever he was.
Coffee felt nervous as he listened the other two conversing. He had the feeling Toffee was about to plunge them into another vortex of popularity battle.

Jasmine smirked, she knew exactly what he was doing. "Lightning is extremely hot, if I may say. The girls love him, he's tall, muscular but not too big, and has the right air of confidence to make a girl swoon." She paused for a moment. "However, that being said, as hot as Lightning is, Ace is hotter. He's shorter than Lightning and actually has a rather slender frame for such an athletic boy, but he oozes sexuality. Lightning is your typical masculine, hot guy. Ace is more like a male sex kitten, actually. He has a way of making you completely fall in love with him. Of course it doesn't help that he drives the girls crazy by being quite physically affectionate with Chase, his best friend. Yes, before you ask, Ace and Chase are really their names. How cute." She said this with enough amusement and sarcasm present to make it certain that she was still on the opposite side. "So if you're looking for which side would be easier to conquer, it would be our side. Ace is entirely too manipulative to fight for control with, you'd be able to take over from Lightning much more easily. Not to mention, Chase is extremely devoted to Ace and there's no breaking them apart. We need a twosome of our own on this side, though don't expect Lightning to be cuddly." She grinned at that thought, knowing full well from listening to many of Lightning's angry outbursts after witnessing Ace plastering himself to Chase just how much Lightning hated the concept of homosexuality.

Toffee mused on this new information for some while in comfortable silence. He really liked this girl. She seemed to be a fountain of information - exactly the kind of information he needed.
He could already sniff the contest. This Ace - along with his precious Chase - would be history, before he was done.
"I think, my love, that you and I could make an excellent team," he said to her with a purr in his voice. "Yes, I think the decision is made." He chuckled. "Unfortunately I'm not sure if I can offer much on that twosome-side, unless sheer brotherly love is enough. As adorable as my little brother here is," he winked to Coffee, "I doubt I could neck with him without losing my lunch."

Jasmine looked up at Toffee and smirked, she liked this boy. "You and I will make a lovely team, dear. You're just the thing I needed to bring some new excitement to this last year. You'll find that I'm a very resourceful girl, I have connections everywhere." That was true, even though she was quite clear in public where she was and who she stood by, she went behind everyone's back constantly. The school was like a huge spider-web and she was the spider. Well, one of the spiders. "I have to warn you though, if you're going to be by my side. I have an enemy, the bane of my existence. She's one of Ace's best friends and has a nasty habit of entangling herself in everyone, on both sides. Her name is Princess, and we have a mutual hate-on for each other." Jasmine wondered if Toffee would be able to help her out in regards to Princess in some way. He seemed like he would be the creative scheming type, she was certain they'd dream up some way to bring her down.

Toffee smiled. He wanted to know more about the girl politics of the school as well. He wasn't one to restrict himself to one girl only - however, of those girls who took sides, he choosed carefully. This Princess sounded more or less like a slut. He had nothing against those. But Jasmine had quite captured his attention, and that meant his favour as well. Finders keepers, and the fast will eat the slow. He was hers - for now, anyway.
"Princess, huh?" He seemed to taste the name on his lips. "Interesting name." He looked at her. "Well, now, I'm sure handling her won't be a problem." He winked. "I wouldn't dream of consorting with the enemies of my friends... unless, of course, for a more devious goal." A glint entered his deep honeygold eyes. "If she likes scheming, what say we let her taste some of her own medicine? After all, scheming is such a bad habit. Girls should definitely be cured of it." He winked, his tone joking. In truth he loved scheming girls. They made his life so much more interesting.

"Oh I agree," Jasmine nodded her head, "girls who scheme are the scum of society." She grinned while saying it, knowing that she would have to be right at the top of the pile of scum if that were the case. "We'll have to come up with some plans, maybe this weekend over dinner or something, if you're not busy." Jasmine had no problems with asking a guy out once he'd made the initial contact. When there was something you wanted, you had to go for it with full force to ensure you'd get it before anyone else had the chance to swoop in.
"So do you plan on getting involved in anything? Any sports? Drama? If you're into the drama scene, then the big fish in that pond would be a guy by the name of Skyler, who now that I think about it, is right up there with Ace and Lightning. Very charming, that one. He's more on our side though, I think you and he would actually get along quite well, better than you would with Lightning. He can be a little anal-retentive, if you get my drift." She winked up at him, walking past the auditorium. "Here's the auditorium actually, fun place. We're having a big Halloween assembly in there soon, I've been working on the planning of it for a few weeks now, it should turn out quite well. Students are encouraged to participate, of course. I'll be emceeing the event, so no real participation from me aside from introducing everyone, but the duty of my position calls and I must answer." It was actually kind of nice that she had the responsibility so she had a good reason to turn down some of her friends who planned on doing a silly little burlesque kind of skit. As much as would actually love to take part, it was one of those things that may possibly come back to bite her in the ass later on. Best to bow out of those.

"We'll have to come up with some plans, maybe this weekend over dinner or something, if you're not busy."
Oh, yeah, the old charm's still there, Toffee thought to himself a bit smugly as he smiled to her and nodded.
"I should check my calendar," he said with a playful wink, "but I'm sure I can fit in something as important as that."
As she went on about clubs, Skyler and the rest, he listened attentively to any bits of information. He made a mental note of definitely befriending Skyler. He needed to build up a web, after all.
"Mmm, Halloween assembly, that sounds like fun," he said. "I'll have to start planning for a costume. I could make a little performance, too. I'm rather good with guitar and singing, even if I do say so myself. I could probably write a little song by Halloween."
Coffee made no face or the slightest move at that to reveal his brother's lie. He would be the one to write the song, of course.
"As for participating, I was going to join in the soccer team and maybe something else, too. The drama club sounds interesting, I'll be sure to go there. I've done several main roles in other schools I've been to." He winked to her. "My best performance was Romeo, no doubt about it."
