Bee blushed sweetly again as she nodded and moved closer.
"I'd love to," she said.

Lancer smiled, his arm softly wrapping itself around the girl's tiny waist, his left hand finding hers... he had never truly danced with someone before. Sure, he had done the waltz and every other 'classic' dance at his family's rich parties, but that was more of a show to him than anything. This, however, was more than a show; in the candlelight, with music flowing around them, it was hard not to lose sight of things. It was hard not to forget who he was, who had become, the things he had done and the things he had been planning to do. It all disappeared as he looked into those rose colored orbs.
His movements were flawless as the pair glided about the room. He could perform these dances in his sleep... in all honesty, he might as well have been asleep for their movements weren't even registering with him. It almost felt as if they were flying. Then again, that could have just been the cocaine again.
"Bee..." His head tilted, and his feet never stopped moving. "Do I scare you?" It was an honest question, with no signs of foul play. This was just something he had been wondering. I mean, he was well aware of the image he gave off... it was on purpose, always had been. But with Bee... part of him didn't want to scare her, while something deep inside of him wanted her to be scared senseless.

Bee was completely swept away into the dance, her body responding in perfect rhythm to Lancer's cue. She felt almost as though she was flying, and let the music take her far, into a place she had only ever dreamed of existing. A place where they danced to their very own song, danced at their wedding, danced at their first anniversary... and she would be a princess, decorated with jewels and gold, and he would be her prince. In that place, everything was perfect.
His question made her smile. She admitted that she was often frightened. But it was never about him. He never frightened her. It was her own feelings, her own reactions, and fears created by her own mind that frightened her. She had built a cage around her, and whenever someone pushed a hand through the bars she was scared. But the hand itself did not scare her - so long as it was his.
She realised she was letting herself fall too deep into this dream, but somehow, right then and there, she didn't care. She was still in love with him. She supposed she would always remain so.
"No," she replied, smiling now. She let her other hand move from his shoulder where it had rested, up to his cheek to caress it gently. "You make me less afraid."

Sadness was in the teen's eyes, despite his smiling lips. She was too good for him. He was only going to hurt her, and those words proved it. What was he doing?
He let out a soft sigh and broke away from the girl, his hands still holding hers. "We should be going, yes?"
