NC17!!! Dan's place (afterschool, Monday)

Dan frowned even more and walked briskly after Bp, snatching her by the arm and pulling her back inside. He pushed the door closed and looked at her intently. It came to him that she lived with Teddy.

"Look, girl, I'm not stupid," he said. "Something's wrong and I can see it."

He realised he was being too blunt. He smiled a bit and let go of her arm. No, this wasn't the way to go. He was probably scaring her off. His shoulders slumped a little. She would be gone from his life. He just knew it. Just like every other girl he'd ever met. Either he pushed them away or they left. He supposed it was for the better. His secrets were for no one else to bear.

His expression changed from angry to sad, he shook his head.

"I'm sorry," he said, leaving it open what he was apologising for. Perhaps everything. He turned towards the door again and grabbed his keys.

Bp gasped as Dan grabbed her by the arm. She wasn't used to being handled in such a manner, seeing as how Teddy never once touched her roughly.

Pale eyes blinked a few times. Bp was at a loss for words as she watched Dan's expression change from one extreme to another. After a minute of silence, she finally spoke. "Forget about it. Let's just get out of here. You can't keep your family waiting all night."

Dan didn't pay much attention to Bp's expression of surprise. When she spoke, he shrugged, holding back his mixed feelings. He figured he'd been alone too long, to get upset with the girl's earlier coldness. What did he care?

"Yeah," he said and put his leather jacket on. He corrected the collar and then took the helmets, offering one of them to Bp. He said nothing more as he went outside.

Bp took the offered helmet and followed Dan out. She wasn't in much of a talking mood.
